I am new to computer Djing and have some questions. I have started using traktor 3.0 and am trying to cue songs. how do I connect a headphone to my laptop so I can hear a song with another one playing so I can cue? Do I need additional hardware so I can play a song while listen to another on the headphones?

Please help...I am completely new to this

Thanks!

Hi gbarrenh!
You need one more external USB,Firewire or PCMCA sound card to do that. When you have one then plug youre internal card too mixer in ch.1 and external device to ch.2 and you can Cue over the headphones plug in the mixer phones Out.Of course you must do some settings in Traktor to make this possible but you can do it-play a bit with settings.
Good mix!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. You need some sort of sound card, Im using Numark's DJIO, works great

You guys have already been very helpful. Thank you.

I actually purchased an external sound card but Traktor does not recognize it separately. Under preferences and AUDIO SETUP, I go into selecting the sound card but it allows me to select one or the other...

Would you have any clues as to how to set up Traktor so I can use both soundcards simultaneously, one strictly for cueing and the other for my actual output?

Thanks in advance!

gbarrenh: Traktor does not support 2 sound cards You need a sound card with more then 1 output. I have 2 suggestions, Run the system in mono, Left for the master out, and then right for the cue... this can be done and works pretty well as long as you wire it up properly.
The next option is to get a soundcard with more then 1 output. For this I would suggest Numarks DJIO... Works great for me
