So, I'm on the phone with this bride to be and I think we're getting along just fine UNTIL we start talking about her MUST play list.... and let me tell you, it was a doozy!

Bela Fleck, John Mayer, Tom Waites, Celtic Women.....:sqerr::sqerr::sqerr:

And she just keeps going on.... finally, I had to stop her and ask her if she was serious or not....

Her reply.... all out laughter!!!! "No, I'm not serious! We want to dance our asses off! Break out the best stuff you have to keep us dancing all night long"!

Now, I didn't get the job yet, as she said she wants to talk to her fiance first, but I think I'll get it... I sure hope so. I like her sense of humor!

It's always nice working for someone with a great sense of humor. She sounds like a lot of fun and very easy to please.

Ok, so what are the top 10 or 20 songs that will keep people dancing their asses off? Help a brother out. By the way I love Tom Waites. Bwahahahaha

Papa, I played the wedding for the bride that DID really want a playlist like that. One of the top worst performances ever. The crowd did not get it, the b&g were too cool for the room and the Mom, who was paying, wanted disco and traditional party music. The bride OKd my playing it, then left the room in tears. Whenever I would deviate back to the brides music, everyone in the room came to me complaining about what I was playing.

Never again! LOL! Yes, LOTs of Tom Waits...and college music... The groom gave me his CDs, without the paper labels, and of course all the CDs had designs on them rather than info, and were all dirty and scratched, with post it notes attached as to what songs should be played, along with a mix CD to be played in its entirety. No idea which were slow or fast, and whether they would be right for the mood, which they obviously did not care about, LOL. They wanted it all about them, with no regard for the guests, and the guests rebelled.

Gosh, that's more like a backyard HS grad party than a wedding.

Congrats, Chuck. I hope you get the booking. Clients, especially brides, who have a sense of humor are so much fun to work with. :)

I had one bride that printed off the "Top 200" and highlighted all the songs she wanted to hear. After I told her that she had about 8hrs of music picked out and that I was only DJ'ing for 4hrs; she understood finally that she wouldn't be hearing them all.

No testing needed bro. If Cap helps you set them up you can't go wrong. She will love them. What was her reaction when you told her about your Bose. I'm sure it was positive.

Well, I guess so. She didn't seem as excited as I am... :sqwink:

I did send her a link to pictures of them.

Probably because she expected nothing but the best anyway. I think most brides do or they would never hire anyone. Just remember its just marketing. When your at the event thats when there true appreciation starts. And you know sometimes its like dressing up real nice it just gives YOU more confidence. And thats just what the doctor ordered.

Okay and within lies that which many I think try to say about selling the Bose above other things ( I believe its going to help for those who recognize it and applaud the name but most likely some wont care). Chuck sold this cause his personality sold it. Saying Bose or 50,000 MP3's ripped at 320. 5,000 watts of modern technology. My new Armani Tux, didnt have to be used to sell. Chucks personality sold it.

and because she was sold on you you could have included all I listed after the fact and she would have been no more impressed. She was already getting what she wanted. YOU!!
