At last thursday's Karaoke event, I tried something as an "experiment"........
At the beginning of the evening, only the "old" Foundation 1 and 2 books were given out to the singers (these are the ones printed by Sound Choice, the ones I photocopied at Kinkos, 3 years ago).
It was amazing how many of them came up and complained about "lack of selections".
I'd been hearing this over the last couple of years, but I'm not really "IN" the Karaoke business per se----I just offer the K as an add-on.
This particular group were "Karaoke Regulars" and were more savvy than your average crowd.
After about 20 minutes--- the singers were given copies of the "NEW" song book, the ones I had just printed up the night before on my Dell Laser Printer. (The new books had all of the new Bricks 1, 2, and 3, the 12 new Spotlight CDG's (Mortar), and the Teen Party 2 as well as Allie's handful of Star Series SC discs.)
It was like night and day, going from a 900 song book to a 1500+ book.
From that moment on, every singer was giving me huge compliments about the quality of the song choices and the variety of tunes available.
On Thursday night, the majority of songs that people were singing--- were off the BRICKS (Brick 2 had the most songs chosen).
Looks like the $497 investment (in Bricks 1, 2, 3, TP 2, and Mortar) is going to be worthwhile after all!
