Here's the scenario
I have a RCF 705AS sub.....with two FBT Maxx 6A tops.
I'm looking at an event next month that might require 1 or 2 Yorkie LS800 P sub.....
I don't want to get into a crossover (I have to rent it, set it...etc.)
My RCF has a built in crossover: 80, 100 and 120 hz.... Can I run into this from my mixer , then run the tops out the x-over.
My thought is to run the Yorkie(s) off the outs on the back of the sub and simply turn the RCF down, running the Yorlie alone...
Can this be done, or is a crossover the only way to go.....

Just take your mixer out to the input of the yorkville sub and the output of the sub to your tops, problem solved.
You don't need to run a crossover and adding your 15" sub doesn't make any sense either.

The3 Yorkie doesn't have a highpass filter/xover like the RCF.....I don't want to run full range to the tops, hence the question....I wnt some big oomph

Steve, I think that you are going to have to run a x over. Just one LS800 should do the trick. The sub has a peak output of 137db and your FBT's can do 128db peak. If you were to rent two LS 800s and couple them they would peak a 140db. Which would leave your tops in the dust. One Yorkie can kick alot of azz. I run two LS 808 with my QSC 153i tops. The sound is awesome.

I ran two Ls800p's with my FBT's last year...The FBT's kept up very well
Hence the vid; "the dancing cups". they were behind me, behind the subs....

Speaking of dust....there wasn't any in the ceiling at the end of the event. My gear was filthy
Mike Pyle says I can do it....the RCF becomes a 95lb high pass filter...I'm startin' to think the xover might be easier....

Steve, you should have just PM'd me... lol
The low EQ knob on your FBT adjusts the 80Hz freq. Yes, I know lots of stuff about the FBT speakers! Dial it all the way back and then adjust the sub to 90Hz as it's cut off. Since they both 'roll off' the freq's, you should still get 80 to 90Hz in there. You can always add a bit more on the low of the FBT. Try the FBT's full range as well to see if you are experiencing much cancellation. Just play with it to see what works best. You don't need a crossover, leave the 705 at home.

Thanks Steve....in looking at the Ls800p manual they also detail how to run two tops into one sub and still maintain "stereo"....

Steve, the video of the dancing cups is really cool. I'll have to try that the next time I take out both of my 808s. Good luck at your event.

I have to agree with maestro
If you have 2, you will be able to run stereo though the subs, but if you only have one sub, i think you will only get "Mono".... Usually I just go from the mixer to the sub, and then with a short cable, from the output of the sub to the FBT... Im am Maxx4a guy myself... Although I have been running Yorkville NX55Ps lately...

JK - yes the sub will be mono.....doesn't matter anyway. On the LS 800P Yorkville suggests running to the tops, then one side to the "in " on the sub. the other top runs to the "mono blend" input

I always ran the mixer into the LS800 and out to my Mackies
