How do you physically organize your disks to your hard drive?

I have 8000 or so songs across 300 or so discs.

The only brick of CDG's I have is the DKG set 1-99 (i'm missing like 4:sqfrown:) So I have a binder that holds 200 CDG's that's labeled 1-200. The DKK set takes up the first 100 slots in the binder. Each disk is on a folder on the hard drive labeled 1-100

Next comes the random "donations", "Christmas Presents", whatever. This is an additional 100 CDG's, in folders 100-200 of both the CD binder and hard drive.

Then there's the 100 disc collection donated by one of our favorite singers. We gave this the special folder/disc designation of 1000-1100.

Finally, we have one special folder on the hard drive called "777". This is where we store songs purchased from tricerasoft. We don't burn it back to CDR.

Being that i've done my fair share of ripping and renaming, my question goes out to those KJ's that have books with a manu's prefix in thier books.

How do you keep the physical stuff organized? Do you keep a seperate CD binder for each manu?

Same in the binders as I do in the laptop- By manufacturer, sub disc number.

It seems to be the easiest way to search, especially if singers request by disc number.

By the way, that DK 1-99 is a rare full set. What numbers are you missing?

...by song title, then artist. My "search" feature finds them in only a few seconds when I get a request.

I keep my SC disks in one binder (or two now, I forget) in number order, then everything else is in another binder, alphabetical by manufacturer then by number. Discontinued SC disks NEVER leave my place. (I'd treat the 1-99 DK library the same way, if I could still get a hold of them... :D)

I burn the original Panorama/CAVS/Tricerasoft zip files to data DVDs & store them in the back of the "everything else" binder for backup.

*EDIT*
Geez... I thought you were only asking about how I store my PHYSICAL stuff....

I use original manufacturer codes (KJPro-style) on my hard drive. The karaoke stuff is organized by manufacturer library codes. E.g. I have AH8000 then maybe CB40000, CB60000, SC2000, SC2100, SC7500.... If my collection from the manufacturer is small, I'll just use their code with no numbers (CB, CAVS, TT). For Panorama, I still use THMC06, THMR06, THMC07. I number CAVS songs by download number from CAVS01-00 to CAVS99-99. (If I ever download more than that from CAVS, shoot me! :))

Off the top of my head, disc 98 (I know because people are always asking for 98-? I touch myself)

I have that song on Sound Choice and SGB. Believe it or not, the SGB version beats hell out of Sound Choice. :sqerr::sqlaugh:

I organize everything by manufacturer.

I keep all my chartbusters essentials 1-6 in a special durable road case that holds 200 discs and allows me to instantly access them they are numbered 1-180. There were a few extra slots so i put my entire sing king set of discs in there, along with a few other stray legends and top tunes discs that I got for myself early on.

I keep everything else i have in a leather folder by series, and in order by manufacturer number.

On hard drive, i have my entire collection by manufacturer, then series, then disc number even tho i don't use them for karaoke YET.

Btw TOQ i JUST found out that it wasn't the karaoke distributor that filed charges and ratted me out to get arrested, it was a supposed friend of mine who happens to be a member of KAPA. :<

anyway, take care all
