What songs did you used to hate, but now find yourself enjoying them?

I'll start it off with one that I really used to dread hearing and now I really like it.

I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick (Live @ Budokan)

Sadly, none that I can think of right now. But I can give you a 100 that I used to love, but now can't stand.

No, but you know what is REALLY funny? I saw THIS thread title and thought, Hey, that looks like a thread "I" would have started! No kidding!

Wow, I'm honored..but it won't do as well as a "Papa Deuce" thread....:sqembarrassed:

That is a very hard question. Once a song is on my "It's Sucks" list it never comes off or played unless the person paying me wants to hear it.

Dancing Queen by Abba..

When this first came out, I couldn't stand it and now for some perverse reason I find myself quite attracted to the song.

When the Bee Gees came out with the Saturday Night Fever stuff, I despised it. I enjoy listening to it now for some reason. :)

I didn't like Bluegrass music at all when I was younger. I've come to appreciate it in later years... it's a big part of America's musical history.

Back in the day I couldn't stand much of anything by Michael Jackson. Honestly, that squeaky, high-pitched voice of his drove me nuckin' futz. That was before a 6kw rms headroom-heavy FOH rig rattling the walls and a houseful of dancers gittin' down to it twenty years later. :D

For me it's some latin stuff, such as Rigo Tovar - El Sirenito, Wilfrido Vargas - El Negro, stuff like that, it used to be stuff you would frown and say nobody's going to catch me playing this stuff, but as the party goes on late in the evening with your guests loosened up by a combination of OH, smoke, lights and women these songs are very fun to play and you'll catch me listening to them.

Maybe not so much the individual songs, but John Denver.

I just couldn't handle him in my younger years (maybe it was his "Far-Out" utterances?) but now his stuff seems a whole lot more pleasing to my ears.

Dunno, maybe it's just because I'm gettting older?:sqconfused:

I have an uncle who has an uncanny vocal resembalance to John Denver and back home again was his favourite song way back when. I heard it hundereds of times from him and got to the point I hated the song. I like it now

With all due respect to Brother Kirby... I have never cared for John Denver and quite likely never will.

John Denver is music's version of television's Little House or The Waltons.

No disrespect intended, of course. I just never cared for him. :)

Though I like Johns stuff lot of memories of school and a few select girls even one named Annie.
Likely the very few songs I hated in the past likely I still cant stand but its such a small list I forget them until someone mentions one of them.

Invisible Touch - Genesis

This song was playing on the radio when I broke up with a girl at the beach when I was a teenager, and for years I could not listen too it.

LOL Fred, never said that I'm in love with him. :sqeek:

I just don't run screaming from the "sound machine" when his music is played. Not one of my favorites but I've learned to tolerate his music a bit more.
