I had test drove V3.2 for several months. It was a cool software and did the trick, but I hadn't really gotten motivated to make the move to go all digital full-time.

Until, V4.0 came out. I downloaded the trial version and immediately found the new upgrades to the software exciting.

I highly recommend this software to anyone thinking of going digital. Heck, download the trial version - kick the tires. Not very many other packages give you all the bells-n-whistles to test drive in a trial version. (only time limited)

Also, it doesn't hurt to have the creator, coder and Faith here on the boards or a phone call away when you have questions. Rick is quick to answer and provide advise.

And, the ease of tweaking the skins and layout for what meets a users needs is pretty simple, directions for modifying are in the files. And, he's also building a skin program to help make that process easier!

Thanks Rick!

How long is the demo?

Does it shut off after a certain period of time?

Can I use it for an entire gig?

Randy A

I think it runs with all bells & whistles for about a half hour session.

Session time limit.

No. I wouldn't make any beer money that way ;) :)

Try it. If you have any questions, you know where to find me :)

I've played with the demo and it's a very good program. Simple, easy to use, no problems with resources and you can use an external controller. Once I'm back up there or Rick moves down here (After the election) I'll be purchasing a copy :D:D:D:D:D

I don't know Jacob, I was thinking about Costa Rico (that's not far from you though -- especially in a Mustang)...

Maybe a small shack overlooking the ocean...

Then again, St. Lucia is one of my favorite places too.

Uncle Vlad would be more than happy to have me defect back to the Fatherland, but something tells me I wouldn't make it out of this country in one piece -- alarms sound when I get near an airport... :sqerr:

So for now, just beer money and the farm works for me  :sqwink:

BTW, V4.2 is going hot and heavy now :)

In fact, Frankie Smith and I, are doing some Double Dutch Bus right now, with 3 other tracks cued (figure that one out ;))...

Lots and lots of new stuff, and major performance improvements. It also takes advantage of some neat Vista 64 bit stuff, so those platforms will see a bigger improvement than the above!

It will be out -- when it tis done.........

drag and drop, copy and paste, it's all windows stuff ain't it?

SoftJock Rick

drag and drop, copy and paste, it's all windows stuff ain't it?

Not really -- Rockit handles its drag and drop internally, although it also accepts drops from any Windows programs as well :)

It gets even more complicated, as V4.2 has 4 main decks, 4 associated queues, and 8 vectors to keep track of...

It also will have a new price :sqwink:

Randy A
10-21-2008, 04:52 PM
So, just asking here......you get more requests from RockIt users for 4 decks than you do for drag-n-drop?

SoftJock Rick

So, just asking here......you get more requests from RockIt users for 4 decks than you do for drag-n-drop?

Yes, because Rockit already has very extensive drag and drop

You are the first, and only customer (that I can recall), that has asked for drag and drop within a single queue (actually called re-arranging). Which BTW, is already added, but you'll have to wait till 4.2 releases. ;)

That's cool, but didn't really answer my question. ;)

SoftJock Rick

Thought I did...

Yes, many people ask for more decks. Probably to the tune of 10-12 per month, or thereabouts.

Jon Tuck
10-21-2008, 07:22 PM
Rick what would they be wanting four decks for?

SoftJock Rick

Rick what would they be wanting four decks for?

To have 4 songs loaded, at any given time.

I can actually identify with that too, as having the choice of 3 different songs ready to be mixed in, is better than 1.

You can do some interesting things with 4 decks, using 1 or two as sampler decks, and mixing in with the other 2 mains. Even though Rockit wasn't designed for the wiki-wiki crowd, you can still achieve some awesome effects (even with just two decks, the sampler and the jukebox).

You'd be surprised -- I actually do some sold out shows after a few beers (Faith buys all the tickets)
