Need some help.
I had purchased a Acer with Vista on it. Put XP on it, but now my USB's aren't showing they are 2.0.
When I plug my externals in, they say they would perform better if it was a USB 2.0. It was prior to the move to XP.
Is it a driver issue? How do I correct it?

Don't have an answer for ya Randy (yet), although I also have a new Acer, and I will be making it dual boot when I put XP on it this weekend.
I'll see if I run into the same problem once I get XP on it...
Just speculation, but some of the new chipsets were designed specifically for Vista, so yeah, it sounds like it could be a driver issue.

Some of the new hardware made for Vista does not like if you try to put XP on it. You may not be albe to find a driver that will fix this problem as Microsoft does not want you putting XP on computers that are shipped with Vista. I tried this with my desktop and I ended up going back to Vista after i tried installing XP.

Make sure you have XP SP2. If not, install SP2.
Since the pc is new, you could also wipe out the hard drive and do a clean install of xp.

Got it fixed.
I had updated to SP2, but I found out that sometimes, not all the drivers get updated.
Went into the device manager and updated the drivers manually.
We're good to go now!
