As of this weekend I now have no reason to use Windows! :sqlaugh:
I have now have successfully gotten VisiTrax to fully run on Linux using WINE. I have sent this info also to Synapsa to let them know they now have another avenue for their product.
The only catch to installing and running Visitrax is to be sure you have a working CUPS print server on Linux as the WINE installation requires its use.
If you have a fully functional CUPS printing system then you shouldn't have any problems.
Next you'll need the latest version of WINE (0.9.53 or later)for your distro as it cleans up printing issues that keep VisiTrax from printing.
(Note: If after you install VisiTrax and you get a printer error message "No Default Printer Has Been Selected" there is a problem with WINE and CUPS talking to each other, be sure WINE is version 0.9.53 or later, prior versions have print issues that cause this to happen)
Once WINE is installed be sure to map your drives including the CDROM. How this is done depends on your particular distros and system.
Download either the exe or zip from Synapsa. If you have everything in proper working order, installation is no different than a typical Windows exe or zip install.
The only minor tweaks that might be needed, default CD player selection or auto play on/off, internet setup and maybe sound.
VisiTrax use is now the same as under Windows, except it's on your Linux machine.
