Seems as though Europe doesn't like Microsoft to having a monopoly, not giving interoperability to developers as it agreed to do, not following established web standards, bundling to the OS things like IE or Media Player...

(Food for thought... what would happen IF the European Union in mass dropped Microsoft and specified the use of OPEN STANDARDS, such as those that are part of the Open Source Initiative, and are now being certified by the US Govt as secure for government use.)
