I almost always start my first country set with Cotton Eyed Joe. It isn't actual country but it has the beat to it. I then go into Save a horse ride a cowboy.
The next song varies based on how the crowd is with the first 2 but Alabama's If your gonna play in Texas. Then Nitty Gritty Cadillac Ranch and sometimes Thank god I'm a country boy.
That is my base set with a few changes based on the crowd.
If you have a bunch of ladies, Any man of mine is still big. Gretchen Wilson Redneck woman. Badonkadonk works well also.
Hope it helps.

Watermelon Crawl - Tracy Byrd
Dumas Walker - Kentucky Headhunters
Chattahoochie - Allan Jackson
Dan Seals - Bop
Steve Earle - Guitar Town or Copperhead Road
Tractors - Baby Likes To Rock It
Garth Brooks - A'int Goin Down or Baton Rouge
Depending on the crowd you might want to use these
Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash
Charley Pride - Crystal Chandileers (older Folks)
George Jones - The One I Loved Back Then
I did a couple of country dances last year Barry if I can find the playlists I'll post them for you

Alot of times later in the night I use Mountian Music, Born to Boogie, and Thank God I'm a Country Boy as a threesome

When I was a member of MAPDJ, someone had this and I have never used it, because I always forget to print it out.
It has many great ideas for country music. I am not sure exactly how old it is though.
Hope this will be helpful to anyone who would like it.
