For those of you on this board who lack the time or maybe even the knowlege on how to rip your CDG's.... I'll make this offer to ODJT members only..

If you'd like your karaoke discs converted to mp3+g, zip, wav+g or bin I will do this process for you.. all you need to do is provide the source discs, recoriding material (ie hard drive or DVD disc), pay shipping to and from.... I can do up to 200 discs in a weeks time.... PM me and I'll send you the details.

No I will NOT be retaining a copy of anyones discs.... this is purely an effort on my part to help out my fellow ODJT members.... in their quests to be non-ludites..... (sorry joe that was just for you :sqwink:)

What is a non Ludite:sqembarrassed:

Barry, that's what PC hosts like Joker and Toq are, referring to those who prefer the more vibrant audio and cleaner workings of being disc based ( No hours spent ripping, no hours spent on software errors, or on incompatible hardware/software. Few hours {= money} wasted on PC memory or speed problems, and no fuzzy download legalities) shows as Luddites.

Oh...er...I hope nobody read that :sqembarrassed:

Joker, though your offer is VERY generous, my quest must wait until, um, I get a new computer.....yeah, that's it....:sqlaugh:

Rob, being the luddite I am, how does this work? Are you ripping a disc to MP3 then making an MP3 disc to send back with the original??? :sqerr:

Jokes aside, I'm kinda confused....

Basically that's it in a nutshell.... folks can send their karaoke discs along with an external hardrive which I will load up with the converted files from their discs... or I can put them on DVD but that would then require them to transfer the files to their computer when the recieve them back. The person desireing this would need to pay the shipping to and from just include a return pre-paid shipping label... I can do on average about 200 discs in a week....

Things I would need to know is:

1. what kbs do they want ripped to
2. what format (bin, wav+g, mp3+g, zipped)
3. what program they will use for playback (this will dictate the format of the file naming)
4. how they want it stored for return

I have all the ripping tools at my disposal... from Audiograbber to KJ Rip n Zip but would predominately use Power CDG Burner as I trust the output the most from that program.

How about i offer you a return plane ticket and free room & board instead. It would probably cost me just as much as to mail my discs! :sqwink:

But that is a very generous offer, I'm sure Toqer would have a good reason to take you up on that.. :)

later all

I don't think anyone with a sizeable library would even want to send an entire library.... I figure 200 at a time would be ample....

In the case of larger libraries... send 200 get them back send next 200 and so on... once all discs are ripped the hard drive along with the last discs are then sent back....

Do you have a paypal account? I'm thinking of buying some new CDG's from Toqer, and instead of sending them directly to me, he could send them to you to get ripped.

I would be able to send you the postage if you had a paypal account.

Hmm.. but i'd still need media to put them on... maybe i should just send you a prepaid envelope with one or two dvds. heheh

anyway

Yeah I do have a paypal account and it would be possible to do it that way.... I was figuring that if the discs were sent in a box i'd re-pack in that same box and if included put the pre-paid return label after I was done... but I think your idea would work too.... I would need to know the shipping weight, size and destination to calculate the shipping cost...

If you want them on DVD I have some single layer discs that hold about 4.7gb each..... Dual Layer would hold about double that... the average file size would be apporx 15mb at 320kbs

It's really a simple offer....

Send your discs along with the media in which you wish me to store it for you either an external hard drive or DVD-R's

Once I've done converting I send your discs along with the converted files back to you...

You pay the to and from shiping...

If requested I can catalogue the files into excel for you to import into your favorite flavor of book making software....

I'm not asking for anything extra in return.... however, if one wanted to tip me I'd be ok with that.

This completly on the up and up... I will not suddenly start braggin that I now have a 100,000 song library nor will you find your library for sale on ebay... I hate pirates and I'm happy with my 5000+ song library that I continually add to through online purchases... not other peoples libraries.
