maestro 01-31-2008, 03:54 PM Why don't we all work together to compile a ceremony music list, other than classical, that we can show our brides? I'll begin....
Feels Like Home - Chantal Kreviatzuk
Bless The Broken Road - Rascal Flatts
Only Time - Enya
From This Moment (Not the duet) - Shania
Love - John Lennon
This Year's Love - David Gray
Feel free to copy, paste and then add to the list.
Jon Tuck 01-31-2008, 06:37 PM will add mine later Im off to the gym.
rictrax 02-01-2008, 02:43 AM Storybook Love from the Princess Bride. There are two versions, one instrumental with Mark Knopler (great processional for the bride) and one vocal with Willy DeVille, the writer.
Dolly Parton's bluegrass version of Collective Soul's "Shine" as a recessional. I used it last year and it was the first time I've ever had the bridesmaids dance back down the aisle.

maestro 02-01-2008, 02:24 PM The intrumental Story Book Love by Mark Knopfler is my fav!
mysoulishome 02-01-2008, 03:49 PM Storybook Love from the Princess Bride.
One of my all-time favorites for ceremonies. The instrumental is gorgeous and heavenly. Love the acoustic guitar.
I have used this for many ceremonies, including my own wedding in 2004!
rictrax 02-01-2008, 04:38 PM My couple used the instrumental as a processional and the Willy Deville as a first dance. I tied it all together by replaying the Mark Knopler version as the coda at the end as they were leaving.
For pre-ceremony music, try Loreena McKennitt to set a mystical, celtic mood. "The Mummers Dance" is great. Also lots of good stuff on the Celtic Moods CD.
For classic rock fans, there is an instrumental on the original Yellow Submarine Soundtrack called "Pepperland" that sounds great as a prequel although it's pretty jaunty. I've used it before.
For a really cool recessional for the classic rock crowd, try "Sparks" from the Who and the Almost Famous soundtrack. Again, I've used it.
I know I have more here somewhere..........

Must be a helluva workout yer gettin' there, JTV!
mysoulishome 02-01-2008, 04:45 PM Instrumental intro to "Love Song" by Tesla makes for good ceremony music also.
At just over a minute long it makes for a good transition, or a short walk (flower girl, unity candle) or loop it a couple of times for bridesmaids.
rictrax 02-01-2008, 05:36 PM Dang! I must really like this thread!
The Brothers McMullen soundtrack has an instrumental version of the Sarah MacLachlan song " I Will Remember You" called "Weep Not For The Memories"
Nick Drake- Northern Sky, I've used this one before. Nick Drake has a lot of usable music for ceremonies.
Iron and Wine-Such Great Heights
OK, now I'm off to the gym!
Rick
