The "Remember Me" Checkbox?

When logging in to ODJT, I always check the "Remember Me" box as I sometimes wander off to go do other things and come back and like to still be logged in....

But lately, if I leave for a "short-period" of time and return, I'm logged out! :sqmad::sqeek: It's also happened if I happen to take too much time formulating my deep thoughts and typing a long post or a response to a post.

Anyone else experiencing this, or is it just my computer that's plagued with poltergeists?:sqwink::sqembarrassed:

Nothing here, I've been remembered for the past 5 days. Then again, I'm not running Windoze. :p

We'll see if anyone else has this issue, if not I'll walk you through some cookie settings on your side and see if that helps.

My first recommendation is clear your cache and existing cookies with a utility like cCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com). If you download and install make sure to uncheck the "Install Yahoo Toolbar" box, unless you want it. :)

It never remembered me in the past when I've tried, but it's been awhile...

I'll try again now, as I have to clean carpets :sqerr:

Then again, maybe I'll just have another beer -- it is Saturday, after all :)

Thanks, Mr. Dan... :)

I went ahead and went to "tools/internet" options and did some cleaning up there .... and if that doesn't seem to do the job, I'll try the ccleaner....

Mr. Rick knowing you, you probably got some kinda NSA security software installed that nukes long term cookies. :sqlaugh:

Seriously though I didn't realize this was an issue, I haven't messed with the default cookie settings other than session timeout. Perhaps I'll specify a domain for my cookie as other vB boards use the same default setting, thus perhaps over writing my cookie(?).

Thanks.. Tools internet options should work but with the browser closed, You can navigate to these options with IE closed by opening the windows control panel and selecting Internet Options (or something similar) under XP.

I only recommend cCleaner because I've found it to be one of the best junk cleaners out there and aside from the Yahoo toolbar nuisance it's malware free. Best of all it's a free utility. :) It's one of the first programs I install on any system I work with.. It gets "da big guy seal of approval" :D

It may be JT messing with you. As for myself, I haven't logged in in so long I forgot my password.

Kirb,

How are your firewall settings? Reason I ask, some firewalls update and may cause the machine to "forget" session cookies.

I have seen this happen before ~ ODJT doesn't remember me... but it's short-lived. A couple of logins and it's back to working fine.

ODJT doesn't remember me...

Can you blame it...?

Heck, Shirl's probably trying to drink you out of her memory right now... :sqlaugh: :sqwink:
