Dance Music Help For The Karaoke Dude- Please?

I originally posted this in The Big Show, but I think this forum may be more appropriate?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

For some reason, I have become popular on the country club circuit in my area in the last few weeks. YAY! However, as you may know, I am primarily a Karaoke Host, only doing straight DJing if the money's right. While I am confident in my Karaoke skills, I am the first to admit my knowledge of dance music is limited by comparison. The country clubs usually have a dance floor, and many people dance to the singers' choice.

OK. I would prefer not to carry both my karaoke AND DJ music collections, as I only play filler between rounds. Here is my request:

I would like to Napster up two dance discs. One of dance "classics" for say, a 40 and up group, and one of much more recent club dance for the twinkies. Would you folks be kind enough to share your top 5 (or more) for each catagory. By top I mean in general popularity, not personal favorites.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Joe,

For the over 30ish, I'd recommend the Cochise Line Dance collections. There you've got the Casper slide, Perculator and other extended remixes of popular dance party tracks.

Michael Jackson's Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground, Enjoy Yourself and Billie Jean are great dance floor thumpers.

If you've got some Hispanic patrons, Selena's albums always go over well. There you have some good floor thumpers as well.

I cannot help with the "pupular" releases. We don't market to that age group. :)
