What is the Grammys? I didn't watch the commercial show interrupted by brief musical interludes. :D I'll read up on it later and let ya know what I think. :)

Amy Winehouse? WTF?

Thats all I will say...

Amy Winehouse deserved to win. I say that as an ardent Foo Fighters fan, whom she was up against. Her performance made me feel a bit sad that she's still in such bad shape, but the look on her face when she won was priceless.

I didn't know there was any music out there worthy of a Grammy! A Grammpy maybe but not a Grammy. :sqwink::sqrolleyes:

"Daughtrey" should have won record of the year, but it wasn't even nominated.

You cannot argue with "6 million units SOLD".........How many CDs has Amy Winehouse sold? 100,000???

I still haven't watched it yet, but...

I would have voted for Kid Rock or Bruce, for album of the year :)

I am just happy that Nelly Furtado and Nickelback did not win anything.

Perhaps they thought that they had to give Amy Winehouse something so that next year, if she's dead, they can nominate her for a "legendary" award or something.

I enjoyed that Beyonce and Tina set. Beyonce has a mean wiggle. Beef Baby!

Kanye's set was good but like everything else he had to ruin it by running his mouth. I really think he wears panties. Men don't whine like that guy.

Rihanna was ok also. She is such a cutie.

I didn't see much of it, but is it just me or was the sound not that great. Seemed like the mic level was way too low on the parts I did see.

As much as I hate to agree with Matt, lol ;) there's no arguing with the facts. I used to think that Grammy awards went to artists and songwriters who sold the most recordings.

Thoughts?

There are actually other awards that do that...but I don't know cuz I don't pay much attention.

But the suspense is potentially gone cuz you can just look up sales figures.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this theory went out the window when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for the first Metal Performance Grammy in 1989. :sqwink:

Being the crabby old man that I am, I avoided watching the "Hammies" as award shows usually make my blood pressure rise to uncontrollable levels threatening a complete meltdown:sqembarrassed::sqeek:...plus it would have interfered with my undivided ODJT time! :sqwink:

Like Dan, I'll be content to read about the hijinks and shenanigans....after the fact. :)

I caught the first 45-60 minutes last night over dinner, and will catch the rest tonight -- unless I'm shoveling snow :sqerr:

My first impressions were a pretty good show :)

I was a little pissed that my fav Brad Paisley's mic was so low, I could hardly hear him sing, but the guitar came through pretty good

Carrie was hot, and sounded great!

Beyonsay (:)) and Tina were cool.

That Kanye guy is one weird dude -- not sure where they found him, but I wish they'd send him back :sqeek:

Now, if only they'd get rid of the stupid awards, and let them play more -- it would be far more enjoyable :sqwink:

I seen Kanye in concert opening for the Rolling Stones. He is the worst live performer I've ever seen. If I could buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth I could retire

Springsteen not nominated for ROY and Daughtry not nominated for Best New Artist was all I needed to know that I had zero interest in this years awards.

No talent, should be in jail Winehouse had no business even being nominated for anything, much less winning. Proves once again that as long as the town is industry is run by suits, it will continue to just go down the toilet.

I do not like any form of reality TV. and this is what this has come to. the Grammy's were cool when there was no hip hop.
I watched a bit and really liked Vince Gill!
Someboy post the video, I cannot seem to do it. What am I doing wrong?
