Hey there...just throwing this out for next month...

So you are playing a St. Patricks Day party...they want Irish music playing...

What are you playing? What works well and what doesnt...what specific groups are best, and what titles should we be looking for or avoiding. What is good dining music and what titles are great dance songs?

THANKS! :sqwink::sqerr:

You Might take a look at music from "Celtic Woman" this group has been blowing away PBS audiences with their concerts, so far they have 3 different shows out on DVD and the first two I know are also out on CD.

Also for something with a rock edge check out The Young Dubliners.

Check out: http://dooleyspub.com Each page has a tune. Right click and check page info for the song title.

I wish I could recommend a single CD that would do the trick but, there's yet to be one.
Much of the "Newfie" music works well too. Your best bet is to hit itunes and be sure to have the following:

The Whole Of The Moon - The Waterboys
A Nation Once Again - Irish Tenors (or other)
Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners
Siamsa - Lord Of The Dance Soundtrack
My Wild Irish Rose - John McCormack or John McDermott
Tessie - The Dropkick Murphy's
