Remember this thread...?

Though I haven't swapped out the drive yet, I did uncover an interesting fact. Because my Dell has Media Direct installed and how it's "hidden" in a partition on the hard drive, I cannot just clone the drive like any other. There all all kinds of gyrations I have to go through first before doing so. Yikes! :sqerr:

Talked with a friend today who works in the tech field and he said he'd take care of it for me...no problems! Nice!

OK...now that I've installed my new hard drive...should I create a partition for my music files or just load 'em up on the C: drive?

Booch, let me tell you what I do. But remember I am just a blooming idiot. I'm sure DJA will back me up on that one.

I partition my drive. If your drive also has your operation system then you can put it on one side (C) and the music on the other. Should you ever need to reload the system or need to fix just that partition it shouldn't affect your music side.

Don't take my word on this, please consult a true tech geek.:sptongue:
