My problem is i can't even remember if i have the proper lyrics that keep playing in my head.. :sqlaugh::sqembarrassed:

DJ Ronster 02-17-2008, 01:58 PM There's a song called "She's Sexy + 17" - It's by the Stray Cats - Released in late 80's or maybe early 90's
Ruben Mora 02-17-2008, 05:32 PM I agree with DJ Ronster - Stray Cats - Sexy & 17
Hey , man , I don't feel like goin' to school no more
Me neither . They can't make you go . No you daddyo yeah !
I ain't goin' to school it starts too early for me
Well listen man I ain't goin' to school no more it starts much, much too
early for me
I don't care about readin' , writin', 'rithmetic or history
I'm gonna walk to the corner and meet my little Marie
I'm gonna walk to the corner and meet my little Marie
Well she's the only girl in this whole world who understands me
Well she's sexy and seventeen
My little rock-roll queen
Acts a little bit obscene
Gotta let off a little steam
Dig that sound shake it around you're mine , mine , mine
Johnny and Eddie and me and Jimmy and Jack
Are gonna do a little number on the teacher when she turns her back
We're gonna cut out of class , meet the girls by the railroad track
Well ev'ry Friday night there's a band that you gotta hear
Just a dollar ticket in and twenty-five cents a beer
They play rock and roll music like it hasn't been rocked for years
Well she's sexy and seventeen
My little rock-roll queen
Acts a little bit obscene
Gotta let off a little steam
Dig that sound shake it around you're mine , mine , mine
Well when I hear that rockin' beat
I can't sit still up , out of my seat
come on Babe lets jump 'round your feet
Can't learn nothin' in school they don't teach you on the street !
Wo-oh , wo-oh , baby I like your style
Wo-oh oh oh oh baby I like your style
You don't care what the other kids say , You go real wild
Well you're sexy and seventeen
My little rock-roll queen
Acts a little bit obscene
Gotta let off a little steam
Dig that sound and shake it around you're mine , mine , mine
Dig that sound and shake it around you're mine , mine , mine
Dig that sound and shake it around you're mine , mine , mine

JoeChartreuse 02-20-2008, 03:12 PM Shows you just how much sleep I'm missing. I read She's just seventeen, and couldn't get the Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There" from the 60s out of my head long enough to think about the Stray Cats, much less Winger...... Well, maybe I'll nap tomorrow...:sqembarrassed:

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired.
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth.
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
and murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen.
A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
said, Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve.
The rich relationed hometown queen
Married into what she needs
A guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly.
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
Indebentures of quality
And dubious integrity.
Their small town eyes will gape at you
in dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen.
To those of us who know the pain
Of valentines that never came,
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball.
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me.
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say, come dance with me
and murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
At seventeen

Oh, sorry....I came back in here because I thought I heard a hat drop.
patrickrlewis 02-21-2008, 09:15 AM Winger's Seventeen is a classic teen lust song.
You feel kind of dirty every time you hear it but you can't help but smile because we all know someone like the song describes :)

Nice list man! Do your clients use your online lists a lot? I go back and fourth about adding lists on my site. Thoughts?

Yes, they get used quite a bit. They can be printed or cut & pasted. Unlike the generic database search "tools", these are my actual files. I generate the lists using a free program called "tagscanner". I am also going to add flash web players to each list with the top 20 from the category.
jclaydon 02-23-2008, 12:39 PM Ok since a couple of you seem to be really good at this kind of thing, I've got one for you.. Keep in mind I don't know if some of the lyrics are right.
it has something like either "end of a gun" or maybe the last word is run.. something that rhymes with that anyway. I'm pretty sure it also has "strong shall survive" but I'm not sure which part comes first.
and the chorus I'm pretty sure ends with "we run"
Now if i could just get the darn tune out of my head, everything would be perfect.. :sqlaugh:

Fotobro 02-23-2008, 01:00 PM looks like you go the answer, but FYI I am constantly trying to find out the names of songs with just bits and pieces of the lyrics. I go to google and type in what I know and usually within three clicks I can find the name of song. BTW i did that with your phrase and it took me to another site where someone asked the same question:

Request Line Productions 02-24-2008, 07:40 AM James, any idea when it came out? Style? etc?
jclaydon 02-24-2008, 11:57 AM My best guess would be mid 80's. Certainly it was when electric keyboards/synthesizers were really popular cause it has that airy/almost organy/piano kind of feel to it. *If you don't know what i'm talking about, listen to the intro of "Living Years" by Mike & The Mechanics if you have it, the effect is similar*
I could hum a few bars, but I don't know how to post stuff to the internet.. heh
Its not that big a deal, its just mildly annoying, that's all.. sorry I couldnt be more help
