Hank - Text Animationjokerswild 02-21-2008, 10:46 PM Check this out I made my first animated text set.... thanks Hank for your help... http://shup.com/Shup/24340/Book-Now-Animation.gif Request Line Productions 02-22-2008, 08:38 AM Very cool! Did you use "Image Ready"? jokerswild 02-22-2008, 11:53 AM Very cool! Did you use "Image Ready"? No. Should I have? I just used CS2 and saved it as an animated gif file. What would Image Ready do for it? I do have the program. Request Line Productions 02-22-2008, 01:22 PM either way works jokerswild 02-22-2008, 02:20 PM Ok I'm hooked damnit.... lol http://shup.com/Shup/24474/ShotGlassAnimation.gif jokerswild 02-22-2008, 03:46 PM More fun with color animations... http://shup.com/Shup/24494/DJSilloette-500x500.gif rlelek 02-22-2008, 04:52 PM AWESOME Love the neon effect. That takes it from "nice" to "over the top"! jokerswild 02-22-2008, 05:08 PM The last one is now my entry page to my site ie the index page before the home page.... check it out www.totalimpactdjs.com Randy A 02-22-2008, 05:24 PM Rob, now you're going to have to get that site of yours updated. The pretty cool intro and then a subtle, cloudy website. It just doesn't fit. I saw your post about struggling to get better paying gigs....I really think you get that site of yours tweaked out and you'll reap the reward. (You know I'm showing you some brotherly love, right!!) jokerswild 02-22-2008, 05:57 PM I will be working on better graphics for the sight soon Any suggestions? Randy A 02-22-2008, 06:05 PM A big thing for me would be to get it off of yahoo and get rid of the ads....it cheapens your image. I spend $3.99 a month at GoDaddy for my hosting and it does me well. Then, you can work on look and professional feel. I'd be happy to help you out. rlelek 02-22-2008, 06:25 PM There is also a local company here in Indiana, and I'm sure they will give you a good deal on hosting! jokerswild 02-22-2008, 06:30 PM A big thing for me would be to get it off of yahoo and get rid of the ads....it cheapens your image. I spend $3.99 a month at GoDaddy for my hosting and it does me well. Then, you can work on look and professional feel. I'd be happy to help you out. my problem with switching is I'd have to learn more difficult web designing programs such as Dreamweaver.... I'm learning it but it's a steeeeeeeeeeeeep learning curve.... I use Sitebuilder from yahoo that is basically drag and drop... but I feel I am outgrowing it... I definately don't have the dollars to have my site designed by someone... color me a cheap dj if ya like but the dollars still wont be there... I'll checkout godaddy though anyway... rlelek 02-22-2008, 06:34 PM what about the local company? the staff there is really helpful an knowledgeable in PHP, MySQL and (what I think you are after) [X]HTML. jokerswild 02-22-2008, 06:35 PM what about the local company? the staff there is really helpful an knowledgeable in PHP, MySQL and (what I think you are after) [X]HTML. I have no idea what company your talking about... Bryan Durio 02-22-2008, 06:36 PM A big thing for me would be to get it off of yahoo and get rid of the ads.... What ads? Wait...let me disable filtering in Ad Muncher (http://www.admuncher.com/)...oh, THOSE ads. See, I never see the vast majority of ads on websites. Life is good! Jon Tuck 02-22-2008, 06:38 PM Rob you atleast have to make either your border Neon like the open page and redo the logo with some Neon it goes from Dazzle to Frazzle . Your pal JTV. jokerswild 02-22-2008, 06:38 PM Ok I'll loose the ads... just was lookin to boost visability rlelek 02-22-2008, 07:09 PM nwihosting.com jokerswild 02-22-2008, 07:18 PM Rob you atleast have to make either your border Neon like the open page and redo the logo with some Neon it goes from Dazzle to Frazzle . Your pal JTV. Hmmmmm..... not a bad idea.... but just the title banner right? jokerswild 02-22-2008, 07:31 PM how bout somethin like this http://shup.com/Shup/24545/Title-Banner.gif Randy A 02-22-2008, 07:34 PM I'd be more than happy to help you out, if you'd like, as a friend....aka free. jokerswild 02-22-2008, 07:41 PM I'd be more than happy to help you out, if you'd like, as a friend....aka free. Cool.... that'd be nice Jon Tuck 02-22-2008, 08:39 PM and perhaps the border since it has that neon filament feel. Jon Tuck 02-22-2008, 08:41 PM or make the red in your designed logo flash but take the blue middle out leaving it white and your blue border could be more like a neon sort of like the Open Neon signs prevalent in many storefronts. jokerswild 02-23-2008, 12:40 AM Thanks for you help guys.... check out my most recent inception of my site... it's a little more understated in the amount of pages but I think the graphics are over the top... and I hope attractive...... www.totalimpactdjs.com thoughts? Randy A 02-23-2008, 01:55 PM I like that concept (did you think I wouldn't ;))! Although, I don't care for the guy just 'hanging' in the air....I think it needs to be anchored with a black bottom. I'll go ahead and post my link here that I sent to Rob, only hoping to help him. I'm sure others can do better, it was just my quick & humble attempt. http://www.djpartytunes.com/tip.htm The white at the bottom of your guy is due to a box outline that you have on your image Rob. If you tak that off, the body blends right into the bottom black page. And, the image needs to be redone to center it more -- notice the shoulders. (You may have cropped him a little to much on the left side.) Also, I think you should pull your left hand text below your 'Total Impact' header -- let it stand up there by itself and not compete with a 'Welcome....' message. Also (I really hope you don't want to kill me by now), are you really set on the buttons for links? They really don't fit with the page style and again, they compete with your other graphics. (Make an impact with Total Impact is what I think I'm trying to say!) One more opinion (tell me to shove it if you want), if you're going to have a background, at lease make your text boxes have a solid background. I hate trying to read text with an image in the background. I hope you take these comments in the manner they are meant.....helpful. I'm not good at sugar-coating to many things, so sometimes my messages come off rudely and they aren't meant to be. These are just my opinions and in no way professional. I love you man (like a brother of course)! Request Line Productions 02-23-2008, 06:08 PM Pretty spiffy there Randy! Nice work. jokerswild 02-23-2008, 08:23 PM I like that concept (did you think I wouldn't ;))! Although, I don't care for the guy just 'hanging' in the air....I think it needs to be anchored with a black bottom. I tried the black base for him to stand on and felt it crampt up the text to the left.... I'm thinking maybe I sould have a smaller guy???? and slightly bigger Logo Text??? I'll go ahead and post my link here that I sent to Rob, only hoping to help him. I'm sure others can do better, it was just my quick & humble attempt. http://www.djpartytunes.com/tip.htm The white at the bottom of your guy is due to a box outline that you have on your image Rob. If you tak that off, the body blends right into the bottom black page. And, the image needs to be redone to center it more -- notice the shoulders. (You may have cropped him a little to much on the left side.) The photo croping is due to the original... closeup shot of me I might be able to draw my shoulder in by hand but frankly my hands shake to much for free hand drawings... but I give it a shot and if I can't get it right I'll try another photo... Also, I think you should pull your left hand text below your 'Total Impact' header -- let it stand up there by itself and not compete with a 'Welcome....' message. I agree but ran out of time last night to fix that.... Also (I really hope you don't want to kill me by now), are you really set on the buttons for links? They really don't fit with the page style and again, they compete with your other graphics. (Make an impact with Total Impact is what I think I'm trying to say!) No I'm not a fan of them either I may have to break down and design my own set of buttons but there is a chrome set I might try... One more opinion (tell me to shove it if you want), if you're going to have a background, at lease make your text boxes have a solid background. I hate trying to read text with an image in the background. That makes sense and if I do use a solid background for the text then I will definately need to make my profile shadow smaller..... I think right now it's a little disproportionate to the page... and over takes it while hiding my message I hope you take these comments in the manner they are meant.....helpful. I'm not good at sugar-coating to many things, so sometimes my messages come off rudely and they aren't meant to be. These are just my opinions and in no way professional. I love you man (like a brother of course)! I appreciate all the tips.... I'll get working on them tommorow when I have some time.... right now the two crucial ones I think are the size of my siloette and text locations. I wonder if I made him into more of an icon size say 200x200 and put him at the top with a black banner below that would leave room to the right for say a photo montage.... Thoughts? Randy A 02-23-2008, 08:33 PM What resolution are you creating your site too? I create mine based off 1024 x 768. There are very few anymore that use the 800 x 600. That gives you more space to work with. I think you're dead on about the size of the guy and the photo montage idea is a good one. I use it and get lots of compliments about having it. People love to see parties you've done and what the guest are doing in them. Keep pluggin' away and you'll get there. jokerswild 02-23-2008, 11:21 PM What resolution are you creating your site too? I think soo to and I can do some real neat jokerswild 02-24-2008, 12:58 PM I think I like this but tell me what's wrong with it.... www.totalimpactdjs.com  Request Line Productions 02-24-2008, 01:12 PM I think I like this but tell me what's wrong with it.... www.totalimpactdjs.com  The Bee Gees aren't playing in the background. :sqlaugh: jokerswild 02-24-2008, 01:18 PM The Bee Gees aren't playing in the background. :sqlaugh: LOL which song? Request Line Productions 02-24-2008, 01:34 PM I was kidding! .....it should be KC & The Sunshine Band. (again I jest) jokerswild 02-24-2008, 01:43 PM I was kidding! .....it should be KC & The Sunshine Band. (again I jest) I knew that, but I was considering some sort of music on my site but if I do that it will be included with a photo montage.... I was LMFAO at your musical suggestions tho Request Line Productions 02-24-2008, 01:47 PM Background music on a site is annoying. A montage would be nice though. jokerswild 02-24-2008, 01:52 PM Background music on a site is annoying. A montage would be nice though. That's what I thought too.... My next project after I get my site in order will be a photo montage... tell me a little bit about this divix stuff... is it easy to do and what do I need for software to do a simple photo montage and video later on too.... Randy A 03-03-2008, 10:47 AM Rob - I've been keeping an eye out on your continued tweaking of your website. I know you're still hampered by you current provider, but your site looks much better. I also know once you get the hang of dreamweaver and get yourself a different host, that you'll be able to create something even better. Good job, my friend!! jokerswild 03-03-2008, 11:44 AM LOL, did you see the disco ball I put up for a very short time? I took it down because it was just too much.... lol but couldn't resist doing it...hahahahaha Randy A 03-03-2008, 11:45 AM Yeah, I saw it....glad you took it off. Less is more. K.I.S.S. | |
