Hey guys, I'm home from a loooong night. Well worth it though. I was hired by one of our local middle schools for a 2 hour dance being held in the elementary school's auditorium (larger). Well i got at the school at 4 and was mid-way set up by 5 (starts at 6). Well the janitor comes running in. Pipes busted flooding hallway and theyre having to move the dance across the school to the middle school's cafeteria. I'm like, ur kidding! I never catch a break. But with the help of some great janitors we pulled the move off and i got everything set up as quickly as possible and as clean as possible. Forgive me for the few wires and my rocknroller behind the rack. The room was completely dark and you couldn't see any of it.

I used VDJ solely and the crowd went wild and packed the floor with 300 kids for 2 1/2 solid hours ( i played over 30 mins for an extra $100 making it a $550 nite). Obviously some of the hits were Crank That, Take You There, Fergalicious, Yeah! and Get Low, but i got that "oohhhhh" for most of the songs so i was happy.

Gear List:

Sounds like a fun night, other than the relocation. Nice pay for a middle school gig.

On top of that it was CASH!

Nice job DJC you really are showing improvement. Good Show. Way to handle the diverse situations. When your old like me you will remember these or perhaps forget like I do at times how much fun it was to have to do the old switcheroo of course until at my age you end up having to do it again.

I'll be grateful when my show is complete. I'm a prime example of buying cheap in the beginning, and replacing. On the other hand, i'm pleased with where my show is, and where its headed.

On top of that it was CASH!

Cash is good but wait until you need to show income and you don't have any. Try buying a house when you have no income.

Best thing to do is report all income. Do it right so you don't pay for it later.

Being self employed and trying to get a loan is tough.

Great job on the dance.

Carolina, buddy. Always good to have your gig reports!

I personally have banned Get Low from all my school/teen dances. It only comes out if parents request it (hey it happens), or if it is an adult party.

Get Low was on my request sheet like 15 times and I have a squeaky clean version thats void of all curse words and scratches through most of the sexual references. No complaints from any of the teachers all nite.
