ok there is probably a simple solution to this, but for the life of me I can't seem to make it work.
What I'd like to do, is route all my mics and music through my mixing board, and then send everything to reaper thru the usb sound card that came with itand and add some effects to the vocals then send it all back out thru the built in *ie computer* sound to my amplifier.
Is there a way i can do this?

Is this a "grim" reaper?
If so, I'd leave well enough alone.

Reaper is a very powerful music editor/program that lets you do all sorts of things, including some very cool effects processing.
The problem is, is i don't seem to grasp the way it works very well and am having problems with the routing of channels.. I did manage to get it to work BUT there is so much feedback that it is totally unusable..
hopefully Toqer at least will know how to fix it..

Oh heck, I didn't see this...
Yah JC, you should be able to do it. What kind of audio interface are you using?
Everyone else: This is Reaper. (http://www.reaper.fm)
Reaper was made by Justin Frankel and Christophe Thibult. These are the guys that made Winamp. You may or may not know this, but they've had a huge influence on some of the major artists out there.
Winamp's original registration was a box that said "Send me what you think it's worth". It was never crippled in any way if you didn't register. Both Radiohead and NIN were influenced by this.

I finally got it to work.. As i said in the other thread, the problem was with the latency settings.
Of course routing the music from the computer, to my mixing board and then out to the amplifier has its own problems, but I won't be able to do anything about that until I get my emu 1616, where i'll be able to route everything separately, which is my ultimate goal.
thanks again

You'll love the 1616 get the 1616m if you can it purports a lower noise ceiling not that anyone in a bar would notice the difference but when used as a recording system as it was intended it would be noticeable in your output files.
