I picked up 3 Diversitronic strobes yesterday off of Ebay (DK-56??)
for only $200 for all three. These have the hyperflash feature that will put out a BLINDING flash that fades slowly, awesome for those big notes that need some highlighting. JT Nichol has two of these and the effect is very powerful...the whole room/gym lights up in an instant then just as quickly is gone. Of course they strobe like a normal light as well. Downside is they are a power hog and will require their own circuit....we'll see if they work when they arrive. I'll let you know how I like them when I get to play around with them
