Tyrone Blue 03-13-2008, 05:40 PM I have a complete JBL SR series system and three K2 amps and processor/crossover for sale. Yeah, this is Bernie's old rig. I've never used it... I was saving it for the new nite club, but after seeing the space they are giving me, I'll never fit this system in that tiny space.
These are the BIG 18 inch duels and 15 inch mains (four of each). Bernie was asking $10K and I'd like to get $8K out of it. I'll even deliver it in a 200 mile radius of my house.
Extra... there are custom dollys for all of the speakers.
DJ Dan 03-13-2008, 07:08 PM That is an awesome system, Larry! I'm drooling over here, good luck with sale!
Kirby Ball 03-13-2008, 07:08 PM Oh baby, would I like to lay my hands on those......:)
You have "financing" options, like Ben? :sqwink:
Jon Tuck 03-13-2008, 07:10 PM and Tyrone never having fired em all up you wont miss em at all, but you will realize the space you now will find hidden in your garage.
jokerswild 03-13-2008, 07:28 PM That sure is one purrrrty setup.... my wife would love the purple amp....
DJ Cam 03-13-2008, 07:33 PM How does that run 1 amp for the 4 tops and 1 amp for 2 subs and 3rd amp for 2 subs?
Is that enough power I'm not familiar with the amps?
This would be a great setup for the bar but probally too big.
sparkieg 03-13-2008, 10:41 PM I'll answer Cam's question for everyone that's interested. What follows is from Crown's website:
The K2 amps ratings:
2 ohm Stereo (per channel): 1,250W
4 ohm Stereo (per channel): 800W
8 ohm Stereo (per channel): 500W
4 ohm Bridge-Mono: 2,500W
8 ohm Bridge-Mono: 1,600W
I would venture to say that Bernie probably had the amps setup to run in 4 ohm Bridged Mono when he sold the rig to Tyrone. That's how I run my Peavey amps in my tri-amped rig.
Here is the PDF link to the specs page:

Hope this helps.

We could facilitate the sale for TB and offer the financing for you if you are interested. I'm sure Tyrone won't have a problem with that, and if he does I'm sure I'll see a PM shortly. LOL.

Chuck The DJ 03-13-2008, 11:26 PM It's hell when you get called on stuff isn't it Kirby!! LOL.. I ended up with a new boat like that once..... "yeah, I'll buy it if I ain't gottta put no money down! (snicker),,,,,, ummm whatta ya mean, ok?, shoot,,, ok, wrap it up...."
I got a lot of skiing done behind that boat untill I sank it,,,,,, different thread......
Fred Stewart 03-13-2008, 11:34 PM If memory serves, Bernie posted here sometime back to explain the way he had this system set up. :)
Kirby Ball 03-13-2008, 11:36 PM It would make an awesome stereo system for the office... :)
Jeff Romard 03-14-2008, 01:10 AM It would make an awesome stereo system for the office... :)
that would make an awesome tereo system for anywhere
Papa Deuce 03-14-2008, 01:11 AM that would make an awesome tereo system for anywhere
especially for hobbyists....
Tyrone Blue 03-14-2008, 02:41 AM While I agonize with parting with them, I can, in fact, use the garage space, and extra cash. If they don't sell, at least I made the effort and made Marie happy with trying.
Or... I'll be on tour with ZZ Top real soon!
Bryan Durio 03-14-2008, 09:29 AM that would make an awesome tereo system for anywhere
I like tereos! :splaugh:
Kirby Ball 03-14-2008, 07:07 PM Rats! :( Coreen said, "No way in H***!"
jokerswild 03-14-2008, 07:49 PM Rats! :( Coreen said, "No way in H***!"
I got ruffly the same reaction except she did ask, as she opened my wallet and a couple of moths flew out, which moth is gonna pay for it, huh?
Kirby Ball 03-14-2008, 07:58 PM LOL, it's not so much the cost of the system....it's that I'd have to get a new "larger" trailer of buy a cargo van to haul that beast around town. :sqwink:
A guy has to have a dream.. :)
hiredpower 03-14-2008, 08:09 PM If we win the Powerball jackpot on Saturday, consider it sold!
Travis B 03-15-2008, 01:04 AM You'll need multiple line array stacks to start touring with ZZ Top... Believe me, did a concert with them, saw the rider :)
Tyrone Blue 03-15-2008, 03:01 AM ...I don't really expect to sell them. I'm doing this more to appease Marie than anything else. If they sell, they sell... if not they don't.
When I die, she can bury me in one of the subs.
Precisionpower 03-16-2008, 05:52 PM Tyrone
are you still planning on using the JBL rig when you open up the resort??
Tyrone Blue 03-16-2008, 06:06 PM Since they have such a small space for the stage, I don't think there's enough room to fit it in there. And there probably isn't any room for all of the lighting I was planning either.
The reason I bought the system in the first place was to have it for the opening of the new club... and since there's no room... I very Pi$$ed off. I should probably keep them, cause I know the minute they sell, I'll regret it.
My only course of action at this point is to go out and start hustling weddings again so I can use this gear (that sucks).
Make me an offer, I just might jump on it.
Tyrone Blue 03-16-2008, 06:18 PM I posted this in the light shack, but I'll put it here too. As you can see, I have about 7½ feet over the floor. I'm wondering what moron designed a heat duct right over the stage area... what was he thinking?
Chuck The DJ 03-16-2008, 06:21 PM just make sure that they give you enough power for everything!

It's in the HVAC Designer's and Installer's Code, Ty. :D
Part six, paragraph 2 reads: "The installation of ductwork shall be engineered and installed in any area that will render it to be of maximum inconvenience for the customer."
Must be a Union thing. ;)

DJ JohnThe1 03-17-2008, 01:25 AM That system looks sweet. Thank goodness I'm broke. I just added 10 more years to my relationship. I would put the Piece out of the bedroom just to make room for that.
sparkieg 03-17-2008, 02:08 AM I wish I had the dough to purchase that system, cause I know first hand what it sounds like. It's the very same system we ran at The Red Rooster here in Winston.
Have a look. (and no, the girls don't come with it)
DJ Cam 03-17-2008, 03:38 AM Every Bar Patron in Western PA is Thankful I don't have the cash right now.
I see myself loading that into a 2000 square foot bar for karaoke.

I'm an old car stereo bass head, what can i say??
Me and Cam could have a reality show....Bass war or something along that line......:spcheesy:

You put bass in large venues. I put way too much in places way too small.
I guess you could be the control. We can compare us crazy maniacs to you.
You can setup your big rig and I'll come in and add a +6db gain to all your sub amps and still complain there is not enough bass.

Oh we put plenty in small venues too; school for the deaf...bump the 40 hz till it makes MY head hurt. About 20 kids. 9' ceilings (wedge 9x12 screen between ceiling tiles and floor) in a 50x50 room. 8-18's. Oh yeah. Rattles the brain! lol
I doubt you'd want to add much to the system; we make high school kids jump with the bass hit. Ask Brian.

That would be a sight to see.....:spshocked:
