Pick a new default skin

A couple of people have complained that the default skin is too bright and hard to read. I really, really like this skin but in order us to be user friendly, I'm going to have to add a new default skin. This skin (DJ) will still be available for you to use, just not by default.

vBulletin's default skin is boring in my opinion but at the same time with all the modifactions I have running any new skin I impletment has to be partically recoded by hand (my hand) and I really hate looking at webpage code all day. :eek:

Thanks to a really nice guy by the name of Miner a member of vBFAQ (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com) we have a nice selection of excellent skins available to us for free.

Follow these links for previews then vote on what you think is best. I'd like to change the default skin by tomorrow:

My honest opinion is that the template we have now is excellent. Of all the dj forums I have seen I have never seen a cool template like this with a dj which makes these forums different. I dont like the other templates cause they are dull colors like black and dont stand out very much. The one we have now is great. If someone is complaining of the color can we change it to blue but keep the dj? If we were to change I would put it with the One we had last or the default blue vbulliten.

I know and I think this skin is awesome too. It will still be available for all members to use via the your contol panel under your options menu you can select the you view the site with. You'd only see the default skin until you login.

As for changing the red to blue that would take some work and I have to sort of reverse engineer the template then ask the creator for permission modify his graphics.

All in all, I think this bright red skin will or already has deterred some older and more experinced DJs from joining our site. For any website as you know the goal is to be as user friendly as possible.

I also like silver blue, and it could work for me... I like the speaker icons the most, and it's darker and a little more appealing. My philophy is simple make the text stand out and easy to read and that's what those skins including the default include.

My favorite is the OS X style but that's only because I like Apples ;)

I like all other ones, smart black being my favorite. So far we have a three way tie, if you discount my vote for OS X it's a two way. Someones gotta be the tie breaker, or I'll just install a mod both tomorrow morning.

The new skin is black smart.. As of tomorrow afternoon, that will be the default this red one will still be available

Yes its bright but you can adjust your monitor and it looks uinique and kewl! Look at that!! Officer Ed The Sock already on the Beat! I want to have a title different than Moderator more like Goderator..........someone once gave me that nick on another unmentionable board.

I like the current one. It seems unique. Please keep this one!

The user titles are user editable here, I don't care what you choose to call yourself. :D Dj chat isn't unmentionable here, this board is different than DJ chat, and we plan on keeping it that way. I'm always open to suggestions.

I love this one too, I plan on keeping it. Just the default would be changed. Once you login you can use this skin. I didn't get a chance to work on the new skin today, though. Maybe I'll just use the most popular one as an alternate.

Okay the members have spoken. I've just installed the BlackSmart skin, the Red DJ skin will remain the default. It's not 100% ready yet, but I figured
what the heck.

Something to note: I didn't code in the arcade, thank you mod yet, so it doesn't display. The calendar link actually goes to the arcade I'll fix that later.

Thanks Dennis. I got tons sitting on my computer. It's a question of how much template editing I can stand. I've got a lot of modifactions here.

seems that a few modification sites that I am a member of I get access to private servers as well that well all I can say is - have too many to keep on a DVD let alone a CDR..
