I took a chance and bought this hoping it would work with VDJ and allow me to split the decks to 2 channels on the mixer...It won't.......
They were taken out of the package, installed and put back in
If you're a Dj that mixes with the software...this is the ticket.....Excellent sounding unit....With the module you get 7.1 performance at home.....
The is an Expresscard unit as well....
These units are selling for $150.00 + shipping

You can still do it with that card thatmusicguy. You just need to run some additional software.
Download Reaper. (http://www.reaper.fm)
During the install, make sure you install the Rearoute driver.

I'm not exactly sure how much the Xfi ASIO exposes, but anyways once you got reaper setup and running, start a new project. (Make sure you start reaper before anything) Insert a new track, arm recording, enable monitoring, and choose reroute 1&2 as the tracks recording source.

Insert Track

Arm Recording

Enable Monitoring

Choose reroute 1&2 as your source.
Repeat this one more time, add one more track EXCEPT use Reroute 3&4 as your source on the 2nd track.
Now using virtual Vinyl as the example...

Things look cherry, ready to go. Load a song on each deck and hit play.
OK, now you might want to actually change the output of your reroute track to match what's going to your crossfader. Simple enough, look for IO on the reaper track.

Click that bad boy.
Uncheck the master parent send. Add hardware output and select the hardware output you want it to go to.

There ya go.

One last thing...
Why do you need a physical crossfader at this point? You could use a midi crossfader and do the same thing, except digitally.

Don't really need a crossfader...never use it...I'm a 2 channel fade up/down kind of guy......

No, in reaper, right click on the left side, add track. This is a monitoring track, which will monitor the sound coming through the reroute source.
Aye, it's stereo.

Are you using the creative drivers (The ones that came on the CD with the card) or the default windows drivers? Default windows drivers do not have ASIO support. I just checked the VDJ feature list, it should support ASIO if your drivers have it.

Wait a second...
Even without the creative drivers, you should still have reroute as an ASIO option if you installed it during the Reaper install.

I didn't see a choice.....I used the Creative drivers...Will play with it further...this weekend...I did check off Rearoute drivers.....btw we're talking Vista...
How do you deal with the physical connection to the mixer (2 channels)?

Eww, vista... That might be the problem. I'll forward this to Justin and see if he has any info on it.
Once you get the audio through reroute into reaper, there's a variety of ways you can output the signal. Click the little IO icon next to your monitoring track, and you can output to whatever you want.
Alternatively, you can use one of the reaper mono plugins to mix the signal to mono, then just have it output to the left or right channel of your sound card.

Now THIS is the kind of thread I like to see from our members! Extremely helpful with step-by-step instructions and pics to boot! For a guy like me that's somewhat PC illiterate, pics are great stuff!
Very nice, Toq!
