DJ Jake 04-02-2008, 04:17 PM Hello OurDJTalk Members ,
Our coming meeting this Tuesday will be featuring a seminar by Jeffrey Craig. It is entitled "Strictly Business". It will most likely be the most informative DJ business seminar any of us have ever been to. And I would like to offer all of you the opportunity to go whether you are a current member, past member, or someone interested in what the New Jersey Disc Jockey Network is all about. No charge and no commitment necessary. We were originally going to charge for this meeting, but we've had a change of heart. Why are we doing this? Because like the NJDJN, it raises the bar for the industry. In my discussions with Jeff, we decided that there is too much information not to share with the entertainment industry at large. So we are going to let everyone in on some of the greatest business advice ever.
Don't know who Jeffrey Craig is?
Jeffrey Craig has been in the business for over 32 years. He owns the highest grossing entertainment company in the country with his "Total Entertainment" projected at close to 13 million dollars in earnings this year. He was the past owner of Jeffrey Craig Entertainment and Pure Energy. Also incredibly profitable companies. His companies make a lot of money with what he calls "extra entertainment". I'll let him describe all of this to you. He is going to cover in detail all the things we all go to business seminars for and never seem to get a suitable answer. When is it time to expand your team? How do you do it? How do you train sales people, entertainers, and other staff. This is just the beginning.
We are dedicating the entire meeting to giving you all the opportunity to expand your business and the only thing you have to do is respond to this message. Seating is limited so please don't get left out. Current members have the priority of seating.
Please spread the word and let's show everyone in our great state how incredible it is to be a member of the NJDJN. Out of staters are welcome to attend as well. The meeting is at the Pines Manor is Edison. Networking starts at 7 pm and the meeting shall come to order at 7:30. Please e-mail me at affairdjs@aol.com if you would like to attend.
Hope to see you Tuesday.
Darryl "Jake" Jacobsen
President

ultsnds 04-03-2008, 09:05 AM why am i the only one who brings in a system? jonathan, i thought your roadie fee was the beer. jake, jonathan & I wil then need 5 chairs.
WaydeWest 04-03-2008, 09:42 AM I don't need any of this. I don't need this stuff, and I don't need you. I don't need anything except this ashtray. And that's it and that's the only thing I need, is this. I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray. And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need. And this remote control. The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. The paddle game, and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that's all I need. The ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, this magazine and the chair.

Richie K 04-08-2008, 10:58 PM Jake,
Great Job!!! Jeffrey was great and the whole night was a lot of fun. Got to meet some new people like Wayde from the chat room
SayHi2ThisFDJ 04-09-2008, 07:42 AM Was very informative...hey Wayde...Was great to meet you! So glad to see other members in here so proactive!
Party On! 04-09-2008, 09:51 AM It was great to meet all the new DJ's that made it to the meeting, and as far as the meeting itself, I think every person walked out of there a better business person with even bigger dreams and goals...thanks Jeff!
Also; thanks to Jake for setting everything up and making this great night happen.
Steve Cie 04-09-2008, 10:24 AM Congratulations on yet another highly successful and well attended meeting for the NJDJN.
The room at The Pines Manor was literally packed, and extra chairs had to be brought in!
Attendees were not only from New Jersey, but hailed from New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania as well!
Jeffery Craig spoke very well and informative, and left the audience pondering several ways in which they can improve and grow their businesses.
It was great seeing some of the large multi-ops present, along with some of the big guns of our industry, who have consistently shown their support for the NJ Disc Jockey Network.
Sean "Big Daddy" McKee, Marcello Pedalino, Mike Walter among others are regular attendees at our meetings, always quick to help out and share their knowledge with us.
Once again, Mike Weider (ULTIMATE SOUNDS DJ's) was on hand providing his sound system and music.
The meeting was well organized and I know that we all appreciate the efforts to keep this necessary organization operational.
The New Jersey Disc Jockey Network meets at 7 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at The Pines Manor Rt 27 Edison NJ.
This organization is on the move and growing!
New members are welcome!
BTW - Great meeting you Wade--Thanks for making the long trip to attend---Hope to see you at future meetings
WaydeWest 04-09-2008, 10:40 AM I gotta say, what a phenomenal group of people. It was great to put faces to screen names and meet other locals in the trenches. Met some new people, some I know from here and some I’ve met at past conventions. Everybody was very open, very willing to share anything and very welcoming. I thank you for having me and look forward to more (guess this means I have to join, not that you need to twist my arm). Jake is very passionate about what he wants from this association/network/family, with great ideas and no hidden agenda. While I’ve done the major and some minor conventions, this was my first local association type meeting and it was everything I’d hoped it would be…serious kudos to Jake, Randi, Laura and the rest for doing it right. And thanks to Jake, Richie, Charlene, Mike, Jon, John, Steve, Rev. Dave and the others for making me feel welcome. Also great to finally meet Johnny Dee and Matt.
And hey, I got to see and hear a properly set up Bose L1 system (thanks Mike).
ultsnds 04-09-2008, 10:54 AM once again the njdjn has shown the proper way to run a meeting. it was informative, fun, fast paced and well attended. it was great to meet new people (wayde it was an absolute pleasure) and see all the familiar faces. as a 25 year veteran I find that i take something away from every meeting that I attend and I always look forward to the next meeting.
Jon Tuck 04-09-2008, 11:02 AM though I was unable to attend I had the honor of catching Jonathan on the phone as they were in pre-meeting mode at the diner likely Jonathan downing his share of pre meeting Q&A courage. It was awesome chatting with him and could hear the pre game buzz as many folks had joined him, I could barely hear him over his posse were revving up in the background. This is what will help our Industry gel and reach the proper place amongst our peers. I hope we can learn to build this comradery across the board to achieve our goals together. Kudos to all who are making this all happen.
DJ Jake 04-09-2008, 01:47 PM I gotta say, it's great to see all this positivity. (I know it's not a real word) It really is great to see hard work pay off and to see so many happy and satisfied people. Those of you that attended, thanks for the kind words and I'm very fulfilled that you like the direction the NJDJN is going in. I thought it was a great meeting as well. Jeffrey Craig was very open and forthright and exuded the very essence of what sharing is all about. Thanks again to Mike for making us sound great with his fantastic Bose system and John for providing the projector and screen. Also to Randi and Laura for helping so much behind the scenes. There are a lot of people who are making me and the NJDJN look good so thank you so much for helping. Wayde, it seems you made a lot of friends last night and you can add me to the list. It was a pleasure speaking with you and I hope this is the start of seeing you at the future meetings. We'd love to have you as a member. We're already working on next month. Let the fun continue!
DJDJJonathan 04-10-2008, 11:20 AM First of all.......kudo's to Jake for making the association a big success this year. Second want to thank Jeffrey Craig for an awesome seminar. Thank you Mr Wieder for again supplying the sound system and your wit(and for dressing nicely) Next it was an honest pleasure meeting Wayde. I would say he was a true gentleman, (but that may change once I get him intoxicated)LOL It really was a great showing and I know almost everyone I spoke to was inspired. I was also very happy to hear that we are going to do the games seminar at AC, thank you to Randi for that and I am in!
I would like to be redundant here if I may............Jake...........great job!!!
DJ Jake 04-10-2008, 11:46 AM Thanks for saying all of that John. It makes me very happy that my friends are really enjoying what is happening. Are you sure you're happy because of the seminar or the fact that you won the biggest 50/50 we've ever had? ;)
DJDJJonathan 04-10-2008, 03:21 PM What 50/50, I don't know what $220.00 your talking about, I can't imagine where you got that idea, I didn't do it, I wasn't even there.
PS: SHUT UP...........that's Atlantic City money!!!!
DJDJJonathan 04-10-2008, 03:29 PM as a 25 year veteran I find that i take something away from every meeting that I attend and I always look forward to the next meeting.
Yes Mike, and the Pines Manor has been asking where the hell their forks and knives have been going. Just thought you oughta know. LOL
ultsnds 04-10-2008, 04:20 PM WHAT!!!, I needed service for 8. i still need spoons, dishes and glasses. also, would you be able to help me with the chocolate fountain next month? and then the plasma when you first walk in ... then i'll help you clean out their bar.
Richie K 04-10-2008, 07:23 PM I can't wait till next month
DJDJJonathan 04-10-2008, 09:16 PM Ok...........but I want the plasma
WaydeWest 04-10-2008, 10:20 PM Ok...........but I want the plasma
You guys are soooo materialistic. Is that all you boys can think about...stealing silverware and TV's. I'm not sure this is the kind of crowd I want to hang with in AC. I roll with a more mature crowd, one that appreciates the finer things in life, one that would have my back when I say that I intend to steal the coat check girl.
