Cortex Digital Controllers?trafficgoo 04-08-2008, 02:47 PM Just looking for some pros & cons on the Cortex HDC-1000 digital controller. Anyone using it? Ron Auger 04-08-2008, 04:18 PM I'm using the Denon HD 2500. I was considering the Cortex and opted for the Denon. Research both before you decide. trafficgoo 04-08-2008, 04:30 PM I'm using the Denon HD 2500. I was considering the Cortex and opted for the Denon. Research both before you decide. I actually was looking at the Denon HD 2500. Definitely prefer it over Cortex. Ron Auger 04-08-2008, 04:33 PM The price has dropped since I bought it and it's definitely worth it. Scott Hanna 04-10-2008, 03:02 PM i have the hd2500 too. biggest reason i chose it over the cortex was the hard drive and the denon name. love it...great quality, but i find myself using my computer much more that the 2500. i've become very dependant on the computer to be able to move songs around very quickly...something i have not yet mastered with the denon. 1cdj 04-10-2008, 09:48 PM I actually was looking at the Denon HD 2500. Definitely prefer it over Cortex. isnt cortex just gemini? DJ JohnThe1 04-10-2008, 09:58 PM isnt cortex just gemini? Yep! Some will say it's not gemini. Junk is junk no matter how many times you change the name. 1cdj 04-10-2008, 09:59 PM I had a gemini mixer about 15 years ago with all kinds of cool sound effects on it it was cool but after that their stuff turned crappy Jon Tuck 04-11-2008, 04:11 AM Scott the 2500 is now a controller ,why arent you using it in that fashion? Im just in the switch now that I have ROCKIT RICKS AWESOME SOFTWARE!!! Jon Tuck 04-11-2008, 04:12 AM Perhaps we should ask Mr How Ward about the Cortex now!!! Lol Sorry Bernie I couldnt resist. djMarco 04-11-2008, 04:52 AM I dont have any expirience with the stuff but i heard from friends that Cortex is not the way to go.They said that even Numark D2 is better thing not to mantion the Denon which is at least a light year in front from everybody. DJ JohnThe1 04-11-2008, 10:20 AM I agree with you guys. Back in the late 80's gemini was on top of the mixer game. I had one that was enclosed in a wood frame on the bottom. I loved it. Then came Numark which I fell in love with in the early 90's. My old dm1075. Then came my Vestax pmc in the late 90's. Then after I got into the Rane boards. Scott Hanna 04-11-2008, 01:18 PM Scott the 2500 is now a controller ,why arent you using it in that fashion? Im just in the switch now that I have ROCKIT RICKS AWESOME SOFTWARE!!! jon, i may need to call you to get up to date on that. Bill Kexel 04-13-2008, 08:32 PM I originally bought a Cortex. It kept locking up/freezing. I sent it back. I currently own 2 Denon 2500s (main system & ceremony system) I absolutely love them. Bill MADNESS 04-13-2008, 09:00 PM I have decided to go the computer route to start with, gonna get me a dell. Once I get into that I will look at a controller. Duude like dell good or Duuude like dell bad or just Duude from the comercial? Just making a joke at the Dell Dude... though I generally have had great luck with Dell, I won't be buying another. The one I have now has been cruddy since day one, and Dell has been no help at all. bestdjinfl 04-14-2008, 10:30 AM I have had my Cortex HDC3000 since last September. I have used it for my 10 weddings so far this year flawlessly. I have 2 WD 250gb Hard Drives and it is a solid piece of equipment I went with the Cortex because I have a MAC. I am 50/50 CD Cortex and love the features on this unit. Any ?'s on this unit PM me | |
