...wrote this one off as a non-produceing lead.... then I get this email today

I'm sorry I have not been able to get back with you very quickly. We've been working on finding a church since the one we had set up fell through. So we have been in panic mode lately. Thank you for keeping in touch with us. We will be calling you very soon.

Thank you again,

I shot her an email back that read....

I understand completely... Once you have your church sorted out... I would love to make your reception planning a breeze, just give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll get the ball rolling.... the sooner the better since your date isn't currently secured.

Good Luck!

Great job! It just goes to show that you never know what a client is thinking!

I DO wish though, that people would simply acknowledge that they have hired someone else...

Definitely agree on that one....
I got a call a few weeks ago from a mother that wanted to hire me for her daughters 14th birthday and 8th grade graduation party. I quoted a price and she said great "Let's Do It". I prepared a contract and mailed in to her the next morning. The contract was due back today, no response from her after emailing several times over the last couple of weeks and leaving voice mail to verify she received the contract and to discuss the plans. They probably got a lower bid and just tossed my contract. :sqmad:

I'm playing tag with a lady about a grad party for the son....

Been going on since late December, (friend of a friend)
Finally had enough today, and left a message, Stating that i have 2 other people inquiring about the date in question, and if i don't recieve my deposit by friday, I will book the date with someone else.

She called back tonigh and left a message with another excuse.....
We'll see what transpires.......

Which is fine. t my pricing level, I expect that a certain number of people will find someone much lower priced. (Hell, we have one team in this area advertising grad parties at $35.00 an hour, pay for 3 hours get a 4th hour free... Tough to compete with that for a backyard 8th grade graduation party...)

However... CALL ME!!! EMAIL ME!!! LEAVE A MESSAGE AT 3AM!! Let me know. My feelings won't be hurt, I won't insult you, I won't even try to hard-sell or guilt you into staying with me! Just be an adult and let me know you won't require my services.

Of course, clients tell me that they can't get people to return RSVPs anymore either, so what can you expect? :sqconfused: :sqmad: :sqconfused:

Well this is just fitting.... one tells me she's getting a friend to DJ cause she can't spend $500.000 and....

Wow... one lead dies and another is born for the same date... I just got a call for a reception for May 3rd.... which would replace the one that I just lost...

This one's definately a last minute event since the groom will be shipping off to Iraq and initially they just wanted a quicky wedding but, it sounds like family wants the ceremony and reception... so now she's hunting DJ's...

She sounds very interested... instead of going over our services and price first I got her information first... then while we were waiting for GB to fire up.. we BS'd about the Navy and so forth... then we discussed options and price... she's going to call me tomorrow to finalize, I hope.

What would be a reasonable amount of time to give before calling her back?
