I just downloaded the newest pay per song list from Tricerasoft and guess what? They now have added Sunfly and... LEGENDS! A major american karaoke label has FINALLY woken up and figured out which way the wind is blowing!!

Now if Soundchoice is really serious about granting Kjs permission to use their discs like in the letter that someone posted here it will only be a matter of time before they jump on board!!

This could be a really good year for 2008. I am really psyched!! I may finally be able to get some people in Canada to listen to Toqer's proposal!

take care all

While that is great news... Sunfly and Legends are hardly big players in the biz.... nor are they considered to be good... as makers of karaoke they rank with Sweet Georgia Brown on the quality scale...

What will really set the anti-digital nay sayer's on ear would be if a powerhouse such as Chartbuster were to jump on the band wagon and go digital then I'd really be stoked....

Sunfly and Legends just makes me go "eh, that's nice thank you guys"

In fact chartbusters has already started to put their collections on digital drives, the difference is you can only use them for home use and not commercially.

But the whole point i was trying to make is that the more people that join, the easier it will be to get the other people to cave. In addition, legends and sunfly both have tracks that are not produced by any other label.

Also the fact that ANY recognizable AMERICAN label has decided to jump on board is huge!

Do you know how hard and long Toqer has worked to make something like this happen? Granted it was probably more Tricerasoft because they are the ones who supposedly invented the mp3+g format.. But still..

This is just one more step in getting a major label like chartbusters or soundchoice to listen.. :)

Oh I'm not denying that any company that is willing to start selling via digital downloads is a step in the right direction... however, to really make an impression on the big boys Sunfly and Legends aren't it....

Frankly, for them it's kinda like a D'uh action... their discs don't sell well even as cheap as they are KJ's and singers alike know the quality is hit or miss at best and by selling via download may be their last ditch effort to keep afloat....

It is a strike in our favor there's no denying that at all... I just don't see it as enough.

Yes, I knew Chartbuster's was selling digital versions for home use only... but until a big boy like that makes the digital versions available for commercial use that bit of information really goes against our cause in favor of digital nay sayers.

I'm sorry I wasn't trying to rain on your parade just trying to present a bit of reality on the matter.
