What headphones do you use? I use the Stanton Single Earcup w/mike Pro500. I have used it for years and the mike works great as a corded mike does.

Head Phones I don't need no stinking head phones :sqeek:. I loves OTSAV perfect fades everytime. And since your ots files can have all the info goodies in them I know the BPM also. I know a few other DJ's don't use them around here also. I do have a set in my bag just incase someone comes with a song on a CD and I can make sure its the correct song etc etc. But thats it.

For over 20,000 songs in my library I do use headphones. I do special mixes while two tracks are playing I can add a song without disturbing my playlist which by the way I do not always use.
In my opinion, playlists makes one lazy. I started out on Vinyl in the sixties and still have over 8,000 vinyl in my collection, many of them special editions given out to special DJs in select Record Pools in the 70's. Sometimes I play a loop inside of a mixed set so yes I do use headphones.
BTW I use Traktor and it gives me flawless mixes even with BPMs that are not the same.

I use the Sony 7506 and V700. I beatmix and headphone are a must.
Some think DJing is the computers job. They will never know the true art and skill of beatmixing.

Thats what I am talking about! Its no wonder customers/clients are asking for playlists. I DO NOT PROVIDE PLAYLISTS! If someone wants to query my music collection I tell them that I have over 20,000 songs on HD but if they have a particular song(s) in mind, be sure to write them down for me so I can verify that I do indeed have them. When you do your own special mixes, it sets you apart from the rest of the competition. In the old days of vinyl, you could "slip cue" a song and thus go from 114BPM to 126BPM without loosing your floor! I still do this, only this time with digital tracks!
Its hard to do a long blend of two songs if you are letting the computer mix for you.
Thats not saying any one way is right or wrong, style and dexterity is what will show in the end.

quality is secondary. My headphones take some abuse.

I have some $60 Audio Technicas and a couple Numarks as backups. They are all backups in the real world.

Yes, I beatmatch, but the headphones don't help with that much. I just need to hear the bass and snare. Fidelity comes second....

I use cheap Sony Headphones I buy at Wal-Mart for $20. I generally get a year out of a pair. Speaking of, I need to get a new pair.

I have two pair of Sony MDR-V700s, but those mostly stay at the home "studio".

For everyday usage, I like the Gemini DJX-05. They're a fantastic value, IMO at $35 or so, and they sound really good.

None since I stopped clipping and adapting public phones in England :(

I just watch the LEDs and catch the beat as I hear it...
