I have a Bride asking about pricing for a reception on Monday 09/01/08 Labor day. Do you normally give a weekday discount, even if it is on a Holiday Monday.

Not that particular Holiday we usually sell out Labor Day Monday. We also usually sell out Memorial Day Monday with outdoor parties.

Being that it is a holiday and you'll be missing the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon in all it's glory, I'd say charge at least your weekend pricing.

This and other issues give me great joy having implemented an across the board set price 363 days per yr. Excluding Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

That's the same policy I follow now

This is a two-part question.

Part 1: Do you discount for weekday events? There are lots of good arguments on both sides of this one, but it usually boils down to how busy you are, if you have a day job, etc.

Part 2: Does a Monday holiday (or the day after Thanksgiving) etc. get the weekend rate or the midweek rate? There's nothing to even discuss here.

Weekend rate.

If it's any help we don't offer discounts at all. And I definately wouldn't suggest offering a discount during a holiday weekend, no matter what day of the week the holiday falls on. :)

Thoughts?

Gotta agree with Fred - No Discount.
