whoooa hooa i ordered some Arriba Bags from Ben Today not only that but i got to talk with his wife on the phone who is really nice and they gave us an account. It's hard to get an account with an equipment dealer if youre not doing 40,000 a month so I really appreciate this. This is going to be a very long term relationship with Ben & Northenlightfx. Im going to have to get my guitar center rep a going away present...
trafficgoo 04-24-2008, 07:27 PM I'm with ya. Ben took care of me today on my power conditioner that I needed. Great guy to deal with!
Brian 04-24-2008, 07:35 PM I just ordered some headphones and a table jacket from Ben on Monday! Ahh I've been putting off Arriba bags and truss bags for some time, its probably time to get on the ball and get those ordered! lol

Jon Tuck 04-24-2008, 08:52 PM Folks I know you've seen me preach the NLFX story but time after time our members have taken the plunge these are but a few examples in this very thread, and honestly I cant recall any negative feedback to date. Ben has been a sponsor here for almost 2 yrs and has offered so much more than product. I stand here and salute NLFX the whole gang for being simply the best. We wouldnt have it any other way at ODJT.
Brian
The arriba bags are awesome we have about 70 of them and we sold out gconline twice before christmas. This was a small order just 5. Didnt get to talk to Ben personally I dealt with Jeff who was equally as nice. I asked him about 100 questions and light names and dimensions of cases and he kept apologizing to me for holding me up, then he told me one light would fit into two different cases according to arriba and the bigger case was actually cheaper... typical sales people wouldnt do that.

Jon Tuck 04-24-2008, 09:07 PM Jeff is awesome hes an Okie what can I say.
NLFX Pro 04-25-2008, 01:55 AM Thank you Kyle. I appreciate your kind words and I am glad for the positive report on Jeff. We try to be anything but "typical". There's plenty of that out there. I want to tell you that it starts at the top and works it's way down, my philosophy for how our customers and partners deserve to be treated is shared with our sales manager, Jeff, who shares it with his sales team. I hope that every experience any of you ever have with NLFX is anything but "typical". If we ever fail to exceed your expectations, please contact me personally and we will strive for a resolution.
We are far from perfect, but we care and we hope that shows.

I'm going to get 2 more scanners, then with that purchase in the near future I will order bags for all of them. I'm also looking for a Vue 3 case, but I don't think Arriba has a bag designed for it yet. As of now I'm using the box.
thatmusicguy 04-25-2008, 03:34 PM Brian - Arriba has a bag that it will fit in....the AC 125; that's what mine is in.....

Steve is Right... Thats what I have mine in too
Yeah arriba makes a bag for just about every light you need to just match up dimensions.

Alphabet 04-25-2008, 08:03 PM Ditto on the AC 125 - Using one for a Revo 3.
Another for a pair of Rain 56 LEDs...
GREAT bags!
Ben?
Ben who?
Never heard of 'em....:sqwink:
Ben, Kat, Travis & the crew are an excellent resource & 'good people'. :)
jokerswild 04-25-2008, 08:13 PM Since we are on the subject of light bags.... which ones will fit the Color Palette's and which will fit a vue III or all three at the same time? Plus I need something like a two light bag for my mini-line dancers.
NLFXSam 04-28-2008, 12:53 PM Jokerswild,
The following bags will fit your lights:
AC-135 - Color Palate
AC-125 - Vue III
AC-115 will hold 1 Mini Line Dancer
AC-140 should be able to hold 2 Mini Line Dancers. Unfortunately there is no divider to keep the lights from bumping into each other.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

What about storage for the color palettes and vue III in one pack.... as for the mini line dancers.... I think after last saturday's gig I'll be looking for something much brighter like maybe the Vue I or II
thatmusicguy 04-28-2008, 01:12 PM Rob - given the shape and weight of the Vue 3; I'd keep it in a separate bag...As for the Colorpallettes...given that you dont want to bump the fronts, you might be best served with a rubbermaid tote and some foam.....the bags are great...I just find it's difficult to secure then on a dolly or cart....

why not just do a single tote for all three.... line the bottom with foam then divide up with foam?
thatmusicguy 04-28-2008, 01:21 PM If you can find a tote long enough.....
maestro 04-28-2008, 01:26 PM Bags are useless for lights; they offer very little protection and you cannot stack anything on top of them making them a pain in the a-ss to transport. I used a Martin bag to transport my first Acrobat until the ata cases were built and it was a disaster waiting to happen. I would NEVER recommend using bags to transport your gear.
Jon Tuck 04-28-2008, 01:29 PM Very carefully is how I transport my Bats with Arriba bags not a mark or issue for the past two yrs. I will likely gain cases in the near future but the bags have served me well. Allowing me to spend on other items when I was building my system. ITs time now to pony up and add the security of cases once I gain the Dynacord I will get my gear in with one cart load.

I tend to agree. I found that if my lights get scuff marks, I can just shoot em with BBQ grill paint and they are good as new. The light bags are an added step. Road cases for everything as applicable...
NLFXSam 04-28-2008, 01:38 PM Just for safety reasons I wouldn't put too many things in one bag. I agree with everyone on the cases. Bags are for quick transport, however with multiple lights I would get a hard case. I personally use hard cases for all my DJ gear. They stack nice and are easy to transport in with my cart.
As for the Mini Line Dancers... they are 300 watt halogen fixtures and the Vue's are LED. I wouldn't say they are brighter, but similar in luemens.
The MLD are more of a full room coverage where as the Vues are in the moonflower category. Their coverage is more restricted to the dance floor.

There is exactly why the MLD weren't bright enough... on the dance floor.... which is what I want versus full room coverage... even with two of them you couldn't see them even in total darkness on the dance floor... just not bright enough or maybe it was my angle...

NLFXSam 04-28-2008, 04:03 PM I'm wondering if you are over powering the effect of the MLD with the color palates. How does your Vue III look with the color palates on? You would get the similar effect, just in a smaller space with the Vue I & II

With the color palettes off the MLD were only showed slightly better..... and the Vue III with the color palettes on were fine together since I was pointing the Vue at the ceiling and the palettes at the dance floor.
It was the first time out with all of these lights working together... and they could be clashing with one another.... a little smoke would help I think... but many venues don't allow it.
The more I think about it I think that yeah the palettes were probably washing the MLD's out....
Maybe instead of the Vue's I and II what about those new LED Disco Ball effects that I've seen out now? I'm still considering the Vue's as a replacement because the light would be more concentrated on the dance floor which is really what I'd like to have....

Arriba is a totally different product then other light bags ive had throughout my years. I like em good enough to employ now 75 of them. So far as much as my guys abuse my stuff nothing to worry about, no complaints...
I feel much better sending our lights out to sit on someones front seat in an arriba bag rather than without remember we're talking about 12-15 guys doing 10-20 jobs each weekend so its a totally different type of scenario.

djMarco 04-29-2008, 09:26 AM I see from your posts that Ben is a good guy.Guys dont forget Cap and all other sponsors here!
I've boughten things from Cap as well

trafficgoo 05-01-2008, 08:29 PM I was on the phone with Matt today (since Ben is out of town) ordering up a brand new system. Gotta tell ya, these guys rock. Again...I'm one satisfied customer!

Rob - Get a Chauvet Kinta - They're dirt cheap; one will fill a big room and your pallettes will NOt wash them out.....

I'll have to check them out... I was also looking at the Elan (sp?)... that looks pretty good for an LED effect.

Elan is a cyborg but the LED version its fully dmx too. We have 4 of them and they're pretty good.

How are they as a single or should they at least be paired up?

Wow I'll have to check these out in action
Did you get your vue III yet?

Its pretty good as a single but it runs the same patterns as a reflex and just throws them around a little more... I really like the rover LED better
Wow I'll have to check these out in action

Yeah but now we may get another.

hey guys we dont run them 4 together the most we do is two. We have multiples of lots of things because of our system count and we change lights every single week. Sometimes they'll all 4 go out with different guys. Take a vertigo for instance we have 14 of those and probably 20 of the 4 light chauvet color bars (POS)
