Academic Pep Rally 4/30 (Quite a few Pics)

Just got home from a long and exhausting day at my local friendly neighborhood high school. We had an academic pep rally for 1000 students on the front lawn of the school. The theme was "The Wizard of Oz". I set up the bubble machines on a balcony (blocked off) and cascaded them down on students as they exited the building- Cool Effect 1. I also did an Emerald Green confetti shoot mid-souljaboy- Cool Effect 2. The system sounded very clear and had a lot of bass given the outdoor setting. I did have some competition for my dancefloor though, another DJ? No, we had 2 inflatable units on site which contributed to a lack of pack-age. Hottest songs were Lollipop (Clean Edit) and Independent. People looked at me funny durng Lollipop because the song is simply blanked out during the N and S words and has an obvious braking during the A word. Oh well. I gave them a small sample of what was to come in 10 days at their prom. Overall, IMO a sucessful event.

I also figured i'd add pictures of another new purchase i've added to my inventory. I've been looking for a casual alternative to wear during setup of events and to events like these where dress black simply isn't practical nor warranted. I went to a local airbrush shop and had these done in vinyl. I've ordered more for my roadies and a couple spares for me to wear around town.

Two questions:

1) Don't you insist on shade of some type? I get it or charge to bring mine.

2) Why were you on the stage? Was it used for anything else? (Guess that's a third question-sorry). I hate setting up on stage. Too much lifting, and the show is rarely about me.

Looks great! I bet they had a blast!

OK, one more question. Does that girl in the crowd pic (electric slide?) have trash tied around her head?

Ryan you got a good set up, looks like you have the right attitude and you're going to do really well. What's next after HS, full time or are you going to go to college, and do the do and then decide 10 years down the road, man i should have stayed doing this full time (there's more money in route A unless you're trying to become a doctor or something)
PM me I can probably hire you out on some of your off weekends. we do a job a month in charleston but turn down at least 20 just because of the way the advertising falls sometimes...

btw- is this stratford hs your hs?

Hey guys, to answer some questions: Usually I don't request any kind of cover unless it looks as though its going to rain. I keep my rack closed until the hour or so before I begin performing and i've never had any issue with the heat. I have an EZ-UP but only use it when I need it. I was set up on the stage because A. I like being above these kinds of crowds (i get bombarded when i'm at their level and i like to keep an eye on things to keep the flow going) B. They always have a stage and C. The event was all about me. I act as the MC and DJ for these events and host all of the activities. When I'm not mixing, I'm in the crowd with the mic running a competition or something. Its actually easier to set up on the stage for me than to set up on the ground. I back my truck up and the tailgate is even with the stage so everything just rolls off the truck, set up and at the end rolls back on. And no, its not trash, it was part of the costume, for the theme, what it has to do with the wizard of oz, idk...

I'm based in Goose Creek/Charleston and serve most of the Lowcountry area. Following my graduation next year I'm enrolling in college full time. Some of my considerations are Clemson, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston and The Citadel. Its my intention to continue working weekends and virtually any date I'm able. College is a priority because a degree will help me be ABLE to continue to further my business. I'm seeking a degree in sound engineering, so its not like i'm dropping all. And with a relaxed class schedule I can pretty much work full time since many week-day gigs are in the evening anyhow.

Lol let me tell you what school lunches consist of: Pizza (bread with ketchup and plastic), Chicken *parts* sandwiches, cheeseburgers, fries, burritos and to make up for that they serve Coke/Powerade products. LOL, i just bring subway with me or go get something after school.
