The Vestax PMC 500. Best bang for the buck and made in Japan.

Randy the American piece has the mp3 you're looking for, the Vestax piece is by far a better brand. How much are you looking to spend?

Denon DN-X500, I have one, and love it. I believe its one of the best mobile DJ mixers you can buy. Coming from Denon you know it will work great and last.

I need to find out how clean sounding this one is... my CD Mix 2 is very noisy, IMO.

You know, I was looking at the Denon unit prior to asking for recommendations.

Randy -

We are dealers for a lot of brands, as you know, including American Audio and Denon. By FAR the Denon is better constructed and cleaner sounding. It would get my vote, but we have had reasonably good success with the AA too. The thing is, the Denon is not really out of reach price wise, especially not for one of the most critical pieces of gear in your show.

Randy,

Although I own, owned and have used other boards such as Peavey 3D, Denon, Numark, American Audio, The DJ mixers that I have always been pleaed with is the Ranes my personal unit is going on 14 years old now and not one single issue other than the crossfader being replaced once in all that time. I only replaced it because it was starting to get a little sticky.

If you could find a used Rane MP24 for around $300 or $400 (in good shape) it will probably be the last mixer you will ever need to purchase. Two mic inputs one XLR the other 1/4"

It won't have an ipod station on it nor will it have a face plate input for such an item!

I agree with Thunder having used Rane however my Denon stuff seems bullet proof. Ben might have some really good deals. Give him a chance.

Here are both my mixers and both are USB so you can hook up a computer or other USB based imput. And Papa are you sure its your mixer thats noisy.

Are you computer based and if you are not but you are headed that way I recommend the HUM-X for ground loops.

I have a very basic Alesis 8 USB, that connects directly to my pc acting like an external soundcard....very inexpensive, and I havent had an issue the past 3 years or so. I actually just purchased another one for a backup the other day.....

Yeah, Dave... all you need to do is look at the specs of a CD Mix 2... It's pretty noisy.
