Driverack PA - Reference Mic - Worth it?

My latest addition to my rig is a Driverack PA. I am loving most of the features of it! I am a little let down by one feature though.

Now -- to make this clear -- I did not buy this item for the AutoEQ feature. I did purchase the reference mic along with it, however, but was only planning on keeping the mic if it was a big improvement.

I've only tried it a few times, but when I have, it has completely dropped out all bass, and raised the highs up almost too high. I have to go manually bring the lower spectrum back up in the eq every time -- so what's the point of it? (Keep in mind, I realize it's supposed to "flatten" the sound out, not "enhance" it. It's still not what I was expecting though.)

I don't think I'm doing anything incorrectly - proper mic placement, etc. And I can hear it adjusting as it runs through the noise.

Anyone care to speak up? Otherwise I'm sending the mic back.

Thanks!

I bought one. Useful for small venues.

Do I use it? No.

Send it back.

What are you referring to, the mic or the Driverack?

I am pleased with the rest of the Driverack features (although I haven't tested the feedback elimination much yet.)

the mic!

I wouldn't do any gig without the driverack on my equipment....
I don't have any other processing. My PA would suck more without it!
