He died yesterday "a couple of weeks shy of his 90th birthday". Although the writer thought it was important to include the date reference, it really doesn't make a difference UNLESS he wanted to see his 90th.

What a voice. "Make the world go away......"

It's hard to believe how many hits this guy had in the 60's and 70's. I think there was over 200 and he was considered to be "daring" for his crossover hits from country to the pop charts.

That's sad. He did some recordings fairly recently, a cover or two of his earlier hits and some duets. They were released on CDX but didn't make radio as far as I'm aware. His voice was still as warm as ever.

I enjoyed his music. I thought it was great when he recorded Cattle Call a second time as a duet with Leanne Rimes. It sounded just as good as the original. RIP Eddie
