You will need an amp that is capable of producing a minimum of 700 watts per side at 4 ohms but more would be better.

Finding a good amp in your price range maybe difficult so E-bay may be the better option.

However using a smaller powered amp bridged for each speaker maybe a better alternative for you.

The PV2600 at around $500 is a pretty good fit for these speakers as well as the old monster PV 2000. A bridged CS800S or CS800X would give you good solid power but you would need two of these amps.

The closest one to your price range would be the QSC RMX1850HD that's 600 watts@4 Ohms they run around $530.00. I would preferably use an RMX2450(@$630.00) which is 750 watts@4 Ohms, or the PLX2502(@$899.00) which is also 750 watts@4 Ohms but is a lot lighter.

Another option is the Yamaha P5000 that's also 750 watts@4 Ohms and runs @$600.00.

Finally a Crown XLS 802 with 800 watts@4 Ohms and also runs @$600.00.

Carvin's DCM2500 ($599.00) dissipates 850 watts RMS per side, 4 ohms stereo. The DCM2750 ($699.00) is rated at 1200 watts stereo, 4 ohm load but that may be overkill for your needs.

The 2500 is one ass kicking amp. We've pushed it hard with bass bins outdoors in extreme temps and humidity. You can heat your sammich at the fan exhaust and it just keeps on rocking. :)

Steve's right ~ you can find these amps on eBay for less than NIB. Carvin maintains an eBay store and offers display models, one-time-use and scratch 'n' dent for a sweet discount. Be patient and review the eBay listings daily.

Hope it helps.

How about the QSC GX-5 series everyones raving about?

Remember, Kat over at NLFX gave it her seal of approval, so its gotta be awesome! On QSC's website, they even have a Loudspeaker Compatibility Chart that includes the Peavey 215 speakers.

The GX5 would be a fine match power wise and that is a decent price for an amp!

As it turns out I just took in a Peavey 2600 amp on trade. Brand new, used one gig for 4 hours. I'd take $400 for it. :)

Where do you shop?? I can get a 2450 new for $500 any day of the week.

I also vote for the QSC GX-5. Great price for the power produced, by a known reputable manufacture.
