I have what a long road case with aluminum trim along all the edges about an inch wide. It has riveted black metal corners. The body of the clase is a hard black plastic/man made material. My question is, are there any products that one can use to clean up brushed aluminum so that it does not look blemished? Is there some type of metal cleaner specifically for aluminum or otherwise?

You can use regular dish detergent and very fine steel wool to polish it out and then recoat with clear laquer.

Or the faster method; get a metal polishing wheel (rag wheel) and fine emory bar (Jewlers Rouge).

Thanks for the tip! I gave it a once over with steel wool and it sure improved the appearance. When I get some time again I'll do it some more. Thanks once again!

If the metal is unfinished, you can also try Nev R Dull wadding. You can get it at any boat or motorcycle store, and probably a lot of auto parts stores or auto section of larger stores. You just rub rub rub, lots of elbo grease, then wipe with a clean rag and voila!! I used this extensively on my cars and motorcycles, and it was especially effective on my aluminum rims.

If the bodies are nasty, a current trend is to take it to a spray on bedliner store and have them sprayed, then replace the hardware for a durable, crisp new look.
