I Have Two Jbl Eons G2s And I Love The Low End Sound They Make But The Mids And Highs Are Not Clean To Me. Is There A Way To Make Them Sound Better Or Should I Just Trade Them In To Guitar Cntr For Some Mackies Or Qsc 12inc. I Already Have 3 Jbl Jrx 118 Sp 18 Inch Powered Subs.

Give theJBLs the old heave ho and get a pair of Yamaha S115V. They're heavy, but they sound great. Seriously, go listen to a bunch of speakers before you get anything. Listen to some Electro Voice speakers too. GC doesn't sell EV so you'll have to go to a Sam Ash or another dealer in your area.

There are no speakers that can't use a little EQ from time to time. Using a 1/3 octave EQ start experimenting with making small drops in given frequencies and I think you will find that YES you can make the sound a little better until you reach a point where you say damn these things sound good.

And remember, with the EQ Cut!!!! Don't boost :)

Something to bear in mind about the Eons ~ they're actually monitors or stage wedges than "can" double as mains. Stage monitors aren't really designed to provide a good tone. They're designed to direct or aim sound on stage.

If it's a better tone you're after you may wish to do some shopping and audition other brands.

:sqlaugh:Yes we can use Bose as a prime example of a speaker system that has been EQed to the extreem to get an acceptable sound from it. :sqlaugh:

Eons aren't known for particularly good midrange, a pair of 12" cabs and a sub will sound much better as 12" drivers produce better midrange than 15" drivers.

I'm a big fan of the B52 line of speakers. I don't own any myself (yet), but I have used them before.

But hey, we should get back on topic. I think that a little EQ help could go a long way, or perhaps you should look around at other brands.
