GoodKnightDJ 05-25-2008, 09:32 AM Well, I didn't see one from Bill so I'll do it.
Stacy, welcome to our little corner of the net.
Your years of experience will add much to this board plus being the author of the DJ Handbook won't hurt either :sqwink:
I'm sure you'll find this a much different atmosphere than other boards around. There are lots of good folks here and many new folks eager to learn from professionals such as yourself.
Thanks for joining us.
Tom
BTW, hope to see you in AC this year. Scheduling would not allow me to make it last year.

Welcome Stacy!
Yeah, it's not your typical forum.... the native are kinda friendly over here...(JK!)

Cheers,
Joe

ODJT is hitting the big time now :D
DJ Stacy Zemon 06-05-2008, 06:41 AM Would someone please explain to me how the "Thank You" and "Reputation" buttons work? THANKS!
Kirby Ball 06-05-2008, 09:00 AM Stacy, REP points are accumulated by someone selecting the "Scales of Justice" below your Avatar. If you go to your User CP, you'll see that I left you "RP" and that a comment is noted when using this feature.
You can add a "Thank You" on top of that.
REP points will add to your amount of "Green and Yellow" REP bars.
REP points can also be deducted by selecting "I disagree".
It's a feature that Dan uses to keep us amused! :D :p
Kirby Ball 06-05-2008, 06:51 PM One thing that I didn't mention that if someone gives you REP points and their REP is high it adds (or subtracts) a substantial amount of REP to your REP standing. I believe it is equal to their REP number.
So if I am correct in my logic (which would be a first!), if someone REPs you and has a standing of 94 REP points, you would gain the equal of 94 thanks. They can also add a "Thanks" afterwards which would give you the equivalent of 95 thanks. I believe that's the way it works. Dan, correct me if I'm wrong.
You should also get a new bar (green, yellow, etc.) with the equivalent of 100 "Thanks".
Those of us with high REP scores, just have way too much spare time on our hands and spend way too much time here! :D
Dave Miller 06-05-2008, 09:30 PM REP points are accumulated by someone selecting the "Scales of Justice" below your Avatar.OH!
I had no idea that was what that button was for.
I thought the green bars were a result of receiving 'Thanks'!
Kirby Ball 06-06-2008, 12:00 AM OH!
I had no idea that was what that button was for.
I thought the green bars were a result of receiving 'Thanks'!
It's a combination of both...
REP points and Thanks both......
