Well I did what I believe to be my last school dance last night. I was not a good night for me at all. THIS TIME IT WAS NOT THE KIDS, SORT OF. I started my 2 hours middle school prmotion dance at 8 PM.

About 20 muinutes into it my sound fades out. I look at my computer it is still running, my misxer is still showing sound on the meters and my speakers are still on. I pick up my mic to make an announcement and it does not work. PANIC MODE, calm down trace it out Scott, you can find it. Check my connections at the mixer all good. Go to the B52 act 18x sub and unplug the right side and pluig it into the mackie 450, it fires up. Cool But nothing else is running. Unplug the left channel of sub and plug it into the right channel and it fires up and the other speakers. Cool, bad cable Got it all up, except for the Sub was not thumping cause only one side was hooked up.
I then rehooked up the mackie through the sub and had the all working through the sub which had no sound at all.
I then made a rooky with a computer mistake. I was trying to get a cable run tpo the sub to get it up again and in the process unplugged my hard dry shutting it all down a second time. Kids were booing me and was not good. About 20 minutes or so of the dance were killed. At least it felt that way. Finally shut Rocki it down restarted and was off. Ended well but really throuh off my timing.
Spo when it was over and the kids were cleaning up I asked the principle who was a friend of mine if I could try a few things while I was set up. He said go for it. So I started at the mixer and worked out to the sub. Plugged into the right channel and all speakers fired up. Plugged into the left and the shut down, still no sub thump either. Wiggled the left channel cable and it worked alittle. I think I have a short in the left channel of the sub.

I am going to set it up tonight or tomorrow and try it out to trouble shoot it all the way down. Hated last night. Even though at the end I had several kids come up and say I rocked. GOSH I AM SO HARD ON MYSELF!!!

Once again it proves that you have to expect the unexpected. But it sounds like you kept your cool and continued with what you were there to do. Good job all the way around! :sqwink:

First time I have ever had that situation. Hated it. Drove though though

I've only had one of those times too but it keeps you on your game...no doubt about it!

These are of my set up. I spent some time on the mixer portion of the set up to make it look neat. Can anyone tell me what my mouse pad is, next to my computer?

Note; the speakers are not completely set up and cleaned up yet in the photos.

Looks like was not a total waste. My wife just got home and she works at the school. I will give an update her in a minute.

Yep. My table is to short for me to use standing up. I painting it black. It was green. Only problem is the paint scuffs off it easily. I am going to make a facade this summer to cover all of it. Do not like my look now.

I would guess if something hasn't happened to someone yet, that someone hasn't played out enough yet. Bound to happen.

Happened to me at a company holiday party. The one channel on my X-over blew. My first blown anything. Kept cool, did some logical troubleshooting, and I was up back up, sans 2nd sub, in about 10 minutes. Looking back, nothing to it. But at the time, yeah, it's freakin' nerve racking!
