8th Grade Prom 5/30

Hey all, its 11:22 and just after munching some lovely fatty McDonalds food, i'm loaded out from my gig this evening. My 2nd to last school show of the school year. I have one more gig on tuesday outside for the same school. Basically, did our Dusk Package A. About 300 kids at the peak of the night 200 on either side. Tickets hurt sales a lot as they charged $10 a kid and required a permission slip which i guess was a lot for some. Anyhow, GREAT crowd, very responsive. Asked me to play an hour and a half past the planned end time and paid cash for it :D I did some activities throughout the night to break up the dancing which was a big concern and for good reason. These soon-to-be high schoolers already knew how to dance like freshmen and were getting kinda freaky. Teachers handled that. For me, it was a night of firsts. First time running this particular setup, first time running an entire gig, start to finish on VDJ and first time getting to run a fogger in a school. Didn't couple the subs for the visual appeal and was fine with it. The 2 15's were more than enough with the HPRs. I was extremely pleased (as were the kids) with the fog/light outcome. Hit songs of the night: Lollipop, The Time of My Life (David Cook), Don't Stop Believin', Soulja Boy and Sexy Slide. I'll post pics below and I have a video coming...

I have wondered what the color strips looked like. You like them?

I love them! They cast a great wash effect and make washing an entire crowd VERY easy. Also have great strobe capabilities, comparable to a 750W Chauvet i;ve used. Also the Blue enhances the UV effect and they look VERY cool in fog! Highly recommended and well worth $200.

Heres a video of sandstorm and the SexySlide. Sorry bout the angle, camera had to chill on my mixer. 1:06 i did a confetti shoot. The goose creek comment during the 2nd part was 1 of a couple rivalry high school jokes i made last night since 1/2 the kids will go to goose creek high and the other 1/2 to stratford.
