Need Rack Mount 16 CH mixer will all connection on the back.

I am finding that everthing out there right now is on the top. That will look messy and not fit in my rack case.

Anyone know of mixers still having connection on the back?

Are you looking for a DJ Mixer or a Pro Sound Mixer?

The closest Dj Mixer would be:
Denon DNX-9000 ...The matrix system allows you to assign any channel to any input..

I don't use DJ mixers I use pro-sound mixers.

I need 4 Stereo Channels and 6 Mic channels which is why I normall end up with a 16 channel mixer.

Someone sould make a completely modular mixer.

There are several out there but none would be suitable quality for your rig.

Although not made anymore there is the Peavey RQ 3014 I believe it is still available if not there are some second hand units for sale. I have had one in steady weekly use since August 1997. The RQ 1606 is also another which is rack mountable without having to find rack ears for them, I believe it is still available.

Also the Allen & Heath Mixwiz in several different models.

Yamaha MG16 mixer is also of the design you are looking for!

The rackmount mixer i am thinking about only has 12 inputs but it fits all other requirements that you ask for. I use it at all my gig as a preamp/mixer and it allows me to mike a small band.
This is the mixer.

I'm trying to replace a Yamaha MG 16/4. It has only lasted me 2 1/2 years. The faders are worn out and it has 2 dead channels. I would like to us something else, but if it's the only model out there I guess it is what I will buy.

I have thought about a Allen and Heath MixWizard but I can't find the info about them being rack mountable.

Cam,

All of the mix wizards are convertible units, so they can be used as Desk or rack mounted. Good Luck!

It seems like you really have bad luck when it comes to equipment, I am begining to understand your outlook on replacing gear before the warranties run out, I guess I would do the same if my luck ran the way your's does.

I can't blame things totally on luck. I do get my use out of equipment. I use basicly the same setup every night I just change the speakers and or amps around depending up on needs. So in just over 3 years my mixer has 1000+ gigs on it. My Alesis Midiverb 4 is 10 years old pushing 4000+ gigs. It is due for replacement the LCD is on the fritz.

I take care of all my gear. If It can be cleaned I clean it or have it cleaned. Everything is racked or stored in nice cases.

Stepping up to a mix wizard is a big move they are $1000. I do fear the same results of only getting 3 years out of it.

The Yamaha is the quietest mixer I have ever used. I really have to turn it up with no signal to hear the noise floor.

Most of my gear has trated me very well. I have never had problems with power amps, passive speakers, any lighting, microphones...

My only main problems were powered Mackie Speakers. My mixer has 2 bad channels but still works great.

Cam,

1000 gigs on a mixer isn't bad, I have a 701R mixer that has been in continuous use since 1988, it is still humping along with no issues but that was built back when a piece of gear was made to last.

while I had issues with the GL2200 from what I hear the Mixwizard is good solid mixer and should hold up well, a grand isn't too bad a price for a decent mixer today, I paid almost $700 in 1997 for my 3014 it has been an awesome piece of equipment with no issues at all (knock on wood).

On the other hand I had the GL2200 and it had problems out of the box and R&R turn around time for A&H is horrible. I also purchased a Peavey 4032 which didn't like to be moved and I would lose whole sections of the board each time it was moved, it seems that the tape wire plugs didn't like to stay in place and movement would cause them to disconnect. Peavey's fix was to solder them all in place, worked fine after that but it took three weeks to get it back from them.
