The next two nights I have gigs for McKinsey & Company... I dunno either, but there are 800 of them here staying at the Grand Wailea Resort. Room rates are about $300.00 per night...
So tonight I am doing karaoke, so they are all set, yesterday they said that a few peeps in nthe company have a band and they want to play... okay, more sound.... then it turns out that they are only going to play two songs.... okay, less gear..... then they decide that they want a big screen so people can see the words... okay... Then they want to extend an hour... okay...
all this comes down YESTERDAY! The day before the gig..... but I don't have to do anything, that's what agents are for! LOL
Tomorrow night is a full show for me,,,, big lights and clubby sound.... cool...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny,,,, can we say clusterfu*k? or the old line "one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing"?

2 sound companies showed up because whoever arranged for trhe "band" (ick) hired one without telling anyone! LOL The 2 song set turned into 8 songs that started 1/2 hour late... and they were terrible! Not funny terrible, but just plain bad.
While they were playing my agent called and I put the cell phone out so she could hear. She was busting up laughing and said "wait!! Let me put you on speakerphone!" that way the whole office could hear....
In the 4 1/2 hours I ended playing about 70 mins... easy night.... they had all kine stuff going on nobody told the agent about.... I mean really, why tell the person coordinating the event? LOL
They had a lighting company come in and do BIG time lighting outside... I talked to the guy and they are doing all this stuff inside tonight at my party!! My little DJ stuff is gonna get lost in the shuffle! LOL... more later... pics will be in a new thread tomorrow...
