A couple of weeks ago I received a call from a company called "Main Street Hosting" asking about my business and my website. They told me that they wanted to do a diagnostic of my site's relevance in search engines and overall traffic. I thought what the heck, and agreed to let them do their diagnostic for $9.95. In getting the diagnostic I wasn't surprised when the hits were very low because I really haven't optimized my website or taken time to really push it as much as I could. I was also told that within a few days I would receive a call from someone at Mainstreet to go over the diagnostic for as long as necessary and tell me what I needed to do as far as site optimization. I just got the call, and the guy (Jim was his name) brought up some valid points. He showed me some examples of how they could optimize my site to search engines. Basically he wanted to sell me a 3 month trial package to let his company completely optimize my site. The normal price is $3500, which when he found out that I'm young and starting this business he lowered to $800 because he liked what I was doing. Then within a few minutes the offer went to $500. It all sounds very good, almost too good to be true. I told him that I'd call him back, and didn't like to make big decisions on the spur of the moment, but needed time to think about it. My question, has anybody else received this call from MainStreet Hosting, does anybody use them?
