My Stimulus Expense

One thing we decided to purchase with our stimulus money was a new camera. After doing alot of research, we decided on the Canon S5.

We also added the telephoto lense with the lense adaptor and hood.

This should be a good camera for our family and we look forward to using it soon.

Right now, I just can't justify the expense though, as I just take pics for goofs mostly -- and I didn't get a damn stimulus check :sqerr:

When or if we get ours it is already spent I wrecked the Escalade last week, hit a deer! Took out the grill and left headlight assembly!

As a matter of a fact the bitch got up and ran off! I had already pulled the 44 out from under the seat to dispatch the animal and if there hadn't been houses around I would have killed it just on general principal.

I actually almost went crazy and ordered the 40D, but I couldn't justify that expense and still maintain sleeping in the house. :sqwink:

I don't know whether others have had luck with ordering from Amazon, but I've never had a bad experience. The companies are always so quick to deliver. The camera is scheduled to be delivered today.

Anyone familiar with this camera ......... I wanted to take pictures tonight at a dance with the flash on, but even when I had the flash turned on, it didn't want to take the darn photo. I had it on night setting too. It acted like it was telling me it didn't need the flash. I didn't care. I wanted to use flash.

I have the S3is..... wonderful camera.

Did you check your manual???


If your using the camera on auto you can not override the presets..

Try putting it on P (program).. it will still do the automatic settings for shutter and aperture but you should be able to change the flash setting..

I don't think we currently have an S5 at the store but I will check today.. if we don't, I've downloaded a manual and will check it out later.. but try the Program mode and see if that works.
