singingdj 08-24-2008, 05:45 PM The Charlotte, NC Chapter of the ADJA is pleased to announce that Mike Walter is coming to Charlotte. He will be conducting his "Finding Your Next Great DJ" seminar on Tuesday September 16, 2008! Here is a little background on Mike.
Finding Your Next Great DJ - Mike Walter
Mike will offer a fast paced and informative seminar offering tips on:
* Where to look for potential new talent
* How to spend your recruitment dollars for the best ROI
* How to get new people excited about joining your team
You are guaranteed to come away with some great new ideas for adding talent to your roster.
Mike Walter is the proud owner of Elite Entertainment, a Multi-System DJ Company in New Jersey that was recently selected by Modern Bride and The Knot as a top Entertainment company in the country. What Mike is most proud of is that his own company exemplifies the message he has been preaching to the DJ Industry for years: There IS a way to combine Quality and Quantity.
Mikes DJing career began in his hometown of Queens, New York in 1984. He is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and has a communications degree from Union County College. Mike worked with Star DJs from 1988 to 1993 where he helped to develop a staff of over 50 by training new recruits and handling an increasingly complex schedule. In early 1993, Mike became a partner in a much smaller Mobile DJ company, Elite Entertainment. He quickly had an impact on the Elite staff, imposing his high standards of emceeing and DJing. Mike bought out his partner in 1998 and Elite Entertainment has continued its growth (21 emcees and 1200+ events in 2007) and sets the standard for excellence in New Jersey.
Mike has always believed in training talent from within and he spreads his message by speaking at DJ Expos and writing for many of the nationwide DJ publications. His DVD and CD-rom package entitled *Training Your Next Great DJ* is available now.

DJ Dan 08-24-2008, 06:11 PM Thanks Folks. This looks like an ADJA chapter press release to me, I've moved it to the industry news forum.
Is anyone planning to attend? Mike's one DJ I'd like to meet, he's published in a few industry mags.
Ruben Mora 08-24-2008, 06:18 PM Let's get Matt (DJMC) to work on this!
DJ Stacy Zemon 08-24-2008, 07:42 PM DON'T BUY NEW SPEAKERS YET...
AS THE KNIGHT IN INDIANA JONES SAY'S "CHOOSE WISELY"
Mike Walters is an EXPERT on this subject matter. His DVD is worth its weight in gold. If you are a multi-level op business owner stop wasting your time and money in training your future competition. Instead, learn how to effectively recruit and train DJs for your company that stick and stay. Mike's company, Elite, Entertainment, has been selected by Modern Bride and The Knot as a one of the top entertainment companies in the country, exemplifying Mike's success in this arena. You can learn from the #1 talent in the country on this topic or just keep experimenting...How wise are you?
Hey we're attending our operation is probably close in size to Mikes and I want to pick his brain. I know Rich from our local chapter for which i am a member so he's good. He's probably just trying to get the word out as Charlotte is a fairly new chapter and they need more people.
I didnt attend last weeks meeting as my last name is Sandler and we just happen to be from the same town as the Sandler Sales family, hmmm funny how that works
Let's get Matt (DJMC) to work on this!
Ironically.....I INVITED HIM to post here.
Please don't shoot the messenger.
Mike Walters is a great speaker & business owner......and he's coming to Charlotte NC.
This was posted at the other board, and I felt it could benefit at least 2 of the members here.
Sorry if anyone got their feathers ruffled.
Unlike some charlatans in the industry, whom I shall not name specifically.....Mike Walter is the REAL DEAL and not full of BS like some people.
I always look forward to Mike's columns in the Disc Jockey News every month.
Papa Deuce 08-24-2008, 08:01 PM That's all fine and dandy. I have only heard good things about Mike, but we ( not me ) don't normally allow people to come here, especially on the first post, and advertise.
Too much spam on all internet forums, not just this one.
singingdj 08-24-2008, 08:04 PM Thanks DJMC and Kyle for the vouch. DJ Stacy Zemon...thanks for the reply...I own your books and they have helped me tremendously! I guess I should have come on and intro'd myself first. For those whose feathers got ruffled...I am sorry for that. For trying to better the industry I am not! Mike is the real deal, therefore I felt that some of you in the southeast would like to know about it. Thanks again and I will tread lighter around here.
