About Video In General:

NTSC 480 lines, 720 pixels wide : Field 0 above Field 1, framerate=30000/1001=29.97
NTSC 486 lines, 720 pixels wide : Field 1 above Field 0, framerate=30000/1001=29.97
PAL 576 lines, 720 pixels wide : Field 0 above Field 1, framerate=30000/1200=25.00
NTSC stands for the National Television Systems Committee
PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line
Codecs Commonly Used in Video:
MPG - practically used by Movies, high compression, great look,
AVI - Comes in diferent flavors, and compressions.
DIVX - Don't use it, however want to mention it
VP6 - Works in VJLive, alright looking video... Black isn't truly black. Little artifacting.
DJ/VJ Software that uses these codecs:
