I finally read the Mission Statement

Ok, I finally sat down and read the mission statement. I agree with everything, except for 2 that I don't do.

-We at least try our hardest to set up our DJ booths at events BEFORE people arrive, at no extra charge. As long as we can help it, we WILL NEVER set up our DJ booths while our guests are eating dinner.

I always set up before the first guest arrives, however, if a client wants me to set up and then do nothing because they have a band or something, then I will charge for having to be there so early.

-We accept every individual's pricing strategy, whether it be an HOURLY rate or an ALL-INCLUSIVE rate for the entire night; however, we NEVER charge overtime just because we are asked to play for an extra 15 minutes.

I have 4 hour packages. Anything over that is overtime. I do agree with the last part, I won't charge OT for 15 minutes, but anything over that I will.

That being said, I have given OT because I was having as good a time as the guests!

Great job, Vinyl!

So even though I don't agree with a couple of things, I still think this is a noble cause and will support it.

It sounds to me like your in. Let's hear from others, eh?

I was saying already to Carolyn the other day...we all have different life experiences that cause us to do certain things...maybe we can't do things EXACTLY one way, but AGREEING that they are at least acceptable puts you above those that we are fighting against.

Hence, also the reason why I add "disclaimers", like, "We at least try our hardest to..."

For certain reasons, some things are more realistic to others.

The poing is that we emphasise GIVING to the customer and ACCEPTING DJs who stray from the "NORM".

Eh?

1) Agreed

2) I agree with the 2nd one :). My dad has always told me "Never Stop at the exact time". You are already at the venue so would 10-15 minutes extra hurt? Anything over 15 I will charge.

1) What if we cant set-up before hand we are breaking the oath. I always ask if there are going to be guest there while set-up and if they say yes then I go early to set-up but sometimes there is a conflict for some reason.

We at least try our hardest to set up our DJ booths at events BEFORE people arrive

Pay attention, Brian, you are constantly asking questions when the answer is right before your eyes.

How about.. "We try our hardest to setup before guests arrive"

"at least" isn't needed IMO

How's THIS?:

We try our hardest to set up our DJ booths at events BEFORE people arrive.
As long as we can help it, we WILL NEVER set up our booths during dinner.
